The only reason I got the Care Credit card through Synchrony Bank 3 years ago, was because my dog was starting to get old and having health issues, and I knew it would come in handy in case of emergencies for her. so I applied, got approved for $8000 line of credit.
Over the course of the last 3 years I have had to use the card for a few instances that have come up with her health issues that have occured, the last one being this past August where I had to make the decision to let my girl go.
Over the course of these three years the bills have totaled a little over $5000, a few of the charges I have chosen the deferred payment options, I have been making the payments, more than the minium on most. One of the things that has me very confused is, Why aren't these payments going toward paying off the amounts towards the deferred promotions?
For a few months I've had a $78.00 outstanding amount on one of the deferred promotions have made $200 payments. and the $78.00 deferred promotion amount is still showing sitting there, same way with a $13.00 one. Why aren't these payments going to paying those off?
I have a couple others that are evern highter that the payments arent even touching that I know I will get slapped with outrageous interest. I'm sure that's their point. This is how they make their money.
I went online to make my payment last month, first thing I noticed was my available credit was much lower than it was, so I checked my credit limit, it had been lowered to $6000, which makes my balance just under my credit limit, it also raised my credit utilization percentage.
last week I finally get a letter in the mail from Synchrony Bank an explaination as to why they lowered my credit limit, they state in they letter they periodically pull your credit report, and according to my credit report "Not Enough listed Realestate " on my credit report. they feel im a credit risk?
So I don't own a house I'm a credit risk? I didn't own one 3 years ago either when I was approved for the $8000 credit limit. I think it's just a Bullsh*t excuse to drop the credit limit and a way to screw people's credit. I have had a flawless payment history with Care Credit/Synchrony Bank for the last 3 years. Never missed a payment. or was never late. and this is the way they treat their customers????
I borrowed $800 from carecredit for the final stage of a tooth implant. I paid them off in their promotional period, and according to the contract, should owe nothing in finance charges. They have charged me 2 late fees, totalling $54 on a zero balance. Not just unfair, but totally goes against the language in the promotion. They won't listen to reason, so here I am.
They say 0% interest for 6, 12, or 18 months if paid in full. Only if your purchase is over $200. I had veterinary care one day apart, which prevented me from getting 0% interest. I just feel this is misleading, they should base it on monthly services if over $200 not every purchase you have. Just very confusing now I am being charged 26% interest. Also, there is no phone number to contact them on the bill only Credit Counseling and Credit Security numbers. Shady!
We have had Care Credit for two years. For the first year we paid our payments over the phone, then the second year we changed to auto payments where the payments would be automatically deducted from our bank. Twice Care Credit took us off autopay and charged us late fees and interest saying it was us that canceled the auto pay. The last time, we made a big payoff of over $800.00 to pay off Care Credit. Not knowing we were short $80 to pay it off, it left us a balance of $80.00 in the account. Instead of Care Credit taking it out of the bank account, since we were still enrolled in auto pay, they took us off auto pay again and charged us over $100 in fees and reported us to our Credit Report. We called Care Credit and spoke with a customer service agent on 12/2 which acknowledged their mistake and he removed only $75.00 of the fees. We called back today on 12/5 after seeing it was on our credit report and spoke with another agent. The agent was dismissive and rude, saying we were never on auto pay, and they they report correctly, and that he would not remove it from our credit report. For two years we paid them on time. And twice they took us off outo pay and charged us fees. Twice it was they're mistake. Now they reported us to credit reporting. And they refuse to do anything about it. They rip people off, charge fees, and offer no assistance, and stick it too you in the end when you pay them off!

My wife and I had for several years had two Care Credit accounts, one in my name only for $4800, and one joint account for $6000. Both accounts were paid in full. I recently needed to have some oral surgery and I planned to finance it with Care Credit, because I could pay it off within one year with no interest. We took the two cards to the doctors office, and they checked, and said that both cards were active. I had the surgery, and the doctor's office charged $4860 to one of the cards. Care Credit accepted the charge with no problems. A couple or three days later, my credit monitoring service sent me an alert that I had a credit card over the limit. I logged in and checked the alert. It said that Care Credit said that I had charged $4860.00 on a $4800.00 credit line. I called them and asked why they had not let us know we over the limit on the one card or just transferred some of the charge to the other card.
They said that they could not do that. Then I asked why they accepted the charge without letting us know we were over limit and lettting me pay the $60. They had no comment. I asked them if they would contact the credit bureau and remove the derogatory information. They refused. I returned to the oral surgeons office, and had them to refund the charge, and I paid $2000 cash, and put $2760 on another credit card. I then went home and cut up my credit card with Care Credit, mailed them the pieces, and mailed them a letter telling them to cancel the account. Again, i called and asked them to contact the credit bureau and delete the derogatory information. Experian lowered my Fico score by 38 points because of this information. Again they refused to help. I think that they wanted to invoke Universal Default on my credit so that they could raise my interest rate and charge me a lot more fees. If I had not had Privacy Guard monitoring service to alert me, they would have gotten away with it. Several of my credit cards would have raised my rates. If you deal with Care Credit, you had better be careful and watch them like a hawk. They will use underhanded tricks to raise your interest charges and get to you.
