Captain Marketing Reviews

They contacted me in April 2016, after months of calling to offer SEO services for my business website. They promised me that they would have me in #1 position in 90 days on Google, Yahoo and Bing. I told them my site needed some fixing and to proceed. I gave them the codes to access my website on GO Daddy. Nothing much happened, they did generate a report that showedlittle progress. When I called to complain they said they couldn't access my site. I ten called Go Daddy and set up new passwords and access specifically for them. Nothing much happened and the reports I was getting indicated my rankings were sliding backwards.

I called again in July and found my SEO Manager had been replaced and the new girl informed me my site was not on Go Daddy but on another site that my previous SEO Company had switched to his sight w/o my knowedge. Now I knew they had been lying to me and they had created another site for me on their server. I was of course angry. When I called the Head Guy Chris he said he would look into it and take steps to alleviate the situation. He never got back to me. In August I fired them. To date they have never offered an apology or refund, ut insist I still owe them for August. I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.

Glorious Sales Pitches!

Besides the mediocre $1000 setup! Bogus links and wrong AdWords, nothing else was done! Captain Marketing’s charges are total waste and rip off.

The Captain Marketing plays a Big Games with NO results to show.

I was not an expert at seo, but not a novice either. After working with Captain Marketing briefly, and reviewing their key word choices, I decided to cut my losses and cancel. They didn't take much time to learn about my business and the process seemed very rushed to me. An expensive lesson, but better than wasting more of my time and money.

After the cancellation, they charged my card not once, but three more times. I've disputed the charges of course, but everyone should know that if you try to cancel with Captain Marketing, be prepared to have three different people chase you down and try to convince you to stay with them. Frankly, I didn't know if they could do the job I needed or not. I just realized that I hadn't really done my due diligence. The people at Captain Marketing do not accept no for an answer, so if you're trying to cancel with them, make sure to contact your credit card company and take steps so they can't charge your card again.

Most SEO companies are great at making promises and it's pretty hard to find one that will show you a return on investment. Every one I have talked to focuses on #1 rankings, not whether I'm actually getting more leads or not. I'm hesitant to turn it over to someone especially when they aren't willing to back up their promises with actual sales lead results.

Captain Marketing completely ruined my keyword rankings. By using spammy black hat tactics, my company was penalized by Google. They took my money, ruined my company's name and won't return calls. They claim all work is done in house yet I can never speak with the person directly. During one conversation a representative made the mistake of telling me they take 50% right off the top!!! This company is a complete Scam!

This company made huge promises about our web presence and did not deliver. We paid to have a website designed and it was just a ridiculous wordpress website that was awful. We cancelled the service and they continued to bill our credit card after cancellation. We are disputing and taking them to small claims court, but according to several things I now see on the web, this is a common thing with this group.

Here is an example of the horrible illegal behavior employees at Captain Marketing endure each day. Their workers are treated badly and they have difficulty keeping quality employees in their Calabasas location and the San Marino location. They even opened a sweat shop in Belize where they are paying $4 per hour to unskilled workers to build cheap spammy links that cost them $.04 to make yet they charge customers $300.00 to $2000.00 for to buy them. If this is how they treat their workers how will they treat their customers?
