Canva Was Hacked And Had User Data Leaked! Then Refuses to Delete User Data From Their Database!
I use a software that allows me to monitor my data online. I received an alert saying that my data was leaked from them.
So far, that's not a big as it probably was an external hacker. At least that's what I thought.
After not being able to delete my account (they just allow you to "deactivate" your account) I've contacted support through the email registered in the account.
Support replied surprisingly quick but not well though. In order for them to delete my account, "for security reasons" they had to get more personal data from me to be able to delete the account.
If since the beginning I've told them the reason I'm asking them to delete my account was because they leaked my personal data, why would they expect to get even more personal data from me?
I've had to appeal to GDPR regulations and they still refused to follow the law unless I would give them more personal data.
That's shameful and against the law. If you are thinking about signing up with Canva, think twice.
