I do love my beautiful and healthy Cocker Spaniel. The lady was nice in person. O.k., yes it felt like she was all about the money and paperwork was really a lot to protect her interests. There were several barking dogs. The website is lovely and impressive and gives an illusion of show dogs. Now, they do have all the papers... not that I need them for anything. I've previously had three wonderful Cocker Spaniels and I was really missing having a Cocker Spaniel. I would have to say this particular puppy took a lot MORE TRAINING ..LOL...I just had never had one that bites us and chews constantly. Never had one who didn't understand the word "no" after much training. She is finally calming down at 9 to 10 months old. LOL. My other cockers, from other states where I lived were soooo easy and calm.... right from the start.
This one is very smart, happy and I do love her very much. She watches TV. She is very alert and notices everything. She has some great qualities. I just have never had one that was so mouthy and bites and chews constantly. It's taken much training. LOL!!!
We drove 4 hours to get the puppy. I was happy that the owner sent me photos through the weeks before she was old enough to pick up. I live pretty far away. That was really very nice sending me the puppy photo updates. I had given a deposit. I had an accident and was going to be one week late getting the puppy and she claimed I needed to hurry up and pick up the puppy a.s.a.p.!!! Because they were supposedly taking a huge trip to Georgia with all the dogs and puppies. LOL.... It was obvious that it wasn't true. There were so many puppies.... it didn't make any logical sense. However, I am very happy with my puppy. Many times in the beginning I was very, very worried about the puppies odd biting behaviors and worried that perhaps I should have picked out a puppy in person as I had in the past. I do love her very much, but this has taken more training and patience than any of my past Cocker Spaniels took. My previous dogs were so easy and calm from day one. I have trained stray dogs faster than this puppy... so honestly I worried a lot in the beginning. I only suggest that you may want to visit in person... and see the puppy or the older dogs that she no longer breeds, etc. This one has been super high energy.... but as I mentioned ... She is FINALLY CALMING down. LOL.
She is turning out to be a very good dog. I was just a bit surprised by a few odd behaviors.
She was VERY HEALTHY. No Problems there. Through everything, I am still happy and love her LOTS!!! No bad feelings towards the owner. It was just all a bit "different" than I perhaps expected. The owner did tell me in person that some people had complained about the sharp puppy teeth. I honestly hadn't had noticed with any of my previous puppies or dogs. AFTERWARDS ... I got the lesson. LOL. Even at 10 months.... but, there is some improvement .... Thank you God. Lol. ... As they say, perhaps things happen in life for a reason. I don't want to discourage anyone from getting a dog or puppy. We all have different experiences in life. I wish everyone well. Hopefuuly we all do the best we can. We live and learn. I am happy and thankful and enjoying my puppy. Best wishes to everyone.
I bought a puppy from here and I'm quite pleased with her yes she's a handful but all puppies are and just to ease your mind she does go to Georgia with all her dogs puppies and all as a matter of fact she just came back i give her 5 starrs and she has outstanding dogs
Sold me a very heart worm infected dog. I incurred over $1600 in vet bills. When I reported this to Candy she stated my Vet didn’t know what he was talking about. I had reservations when I arrived as her filthy Sanibel home but my gut wanted to save at least 1 dog. She is no breeder. She is a puppy mill and I am trying to get her shut down. Stay away - unless you are aspca then please by all means get over there
I bought a retired female 3.5yrs old. Drove 18 hrs round trip. The home was deplorable. The urine stench was incredible. My gut said run and run fast. My heart said this little girl needs saving. Paid $600 dollars to take her home and now another $1200 to my vet due to a severe case of heart worm.. when I notified “Breeder” she said she would pick up dog and return my $600. Of course she would because she would, the treatment was paid for.
I bought a dog from this person. The place was dirty and pretty weird - run down, cluttered, many barking dogs, seller not there( just a guy in workout clothes when tried to sell me a dog that needed surgery. Anyway, I bought a dog and the dog had giardia. I incurred $100 in vet expenses. Candy offered $50,and sent a check, very cheap, but ok. She then STOPPED PAYMENT on the check and hung up on me when we spoke about it. She is a weirdo and do not touch her with a stick.
I purchased my puppy almost 3 years ago as nd should have been more diligent when examining him. He is super special to us but is not tg he quality I was expecting from Gr. Champion bloodlines. The breeder left a dew claw on one foot and told me that sometimes they grow back! Uh, no, I bred cockers for years and if removed properly they do not grow back. It was never removed. Tail was docked too long and he has a double tooth in the front of his mouth. Which is a tooth that is actually split into 2. I would suggest checking more than one breeder and pay attention to their facilities. she has several breeding dogs and puppies in a super small trailer. Not the most ideal place for "quality" dogs. Anyway, like I mentioned I bought my dog a couple years ago and I wouldn't give him up for anything we bonded immediately and he is hilarious at times. Very loving. I think he was ready to leave the terrible conditions. just be mindful of what you are purchasing for the price.
