They call claiming you have been chosen for a who.'s who company.. This company changes their name on a bi-yearly basis. Covington who's Who, Cambridge who,s Who, leaders magazine, Empire Publishing? They start by telling you you are going to be honored in their who's who organization. Some special internet and print publication. Airline vouchers, a plaque,They get lots of people to do this for several hundred dollars $400.00, $500,00, $900.00 whatever you will pay. The bio is terrible. Everything is false. Two years later they change the name of the company and attempt to get more money out of you. At first I had no idea they were linked or fraudulent. I have four worthless plaques from them. They called 4 months ago claiming I had ordered an award under the name of Empire Publishing.
They had my credit card number so I thought I don't remember doing this but if you have my credit card number okay maybe I did. This cost me $400.00. For a terrible plastic plaque. I put on my payment no more awards would be ordered or accepted. Two weeks ago they started calling me stating I had order another award and plaque. This time they are another who's who. They again had my credit card number. I know I never ordered this Plaque. They claim I owe them $500.00. I would owe them the money because I ordered it.
The guy said if I gave him the $500.00 he could cancel my membership and I would never hear from who's who again. That they are all affiliated.. However he refused to send me a copy of the terms of cancelation until I paid him the 499.99 upfront. This group of thieves have taken at least $2000.00. From me.Yes I am an idiot! Please don't be little me I feel stupid enough. It wasn't until they started calling with the exact same pitch claiming they had my credit card number, that I caught on. I have no idea how to proceed. There should be a class action suite. They have a fraud engine that is making them thousands and thousands of dollars. Since they jump around from New York to New Jersey, to Florida I think this is a Federal fraud case.
