This place came to our home in clayton, ca on sept 28, 2020 and loaded all of my husbands, my 75 year old vietnam vet dad and all my belongings on 2 trucks. The driver in charge promised our stuff would not be moved or stored. But they would only switch drivers. And get our things to kentucky asap.
Then they immediately send all our stuff to a janky storage warehouse in downtown LA and let it sit there. Its Oct 31st and our stuff isnt here.
Oh and check this out. 8 days after they took our stuff they call and say we made the cashiers check out to the wrong company. Wanna know why? Because the 1st company, colonial moving and storage, llc out of florida is who we hired. They also raised our quote by $12,000 two days before our move. They told us to make the cashiers check out to them. But Cal state shows up to move us. I guess we got brokered out. But it took cal state 8 days to realize THEY had all made a mistake at our expense. So they refused to release our stuff til we paid. We are now in kentucky. In our new home thats empty. They overnight the cashiers check to us and in turn we have to overnight it to our bank in california. Spent $50 on top of the $8000 colonial got us for. We try to pay Cal state but they demand a wire transfer, which we cant do because were in kentucky and our banks in cali. We are freaking out now because theyre holding our stuff hostage and being sketchy about how we pay them. 3 days later, after calling them 10 times a day, they agree to let us pay $5000 by debit card over the phone. Wait what??? Why did they torment us for 3 days then give in?? Freakin weird!!
Anyway, we have been hung up on, lied to, asked to speak to the manager Augustine. Who we left countless messages for and they NEVER call back. We even had the sheriff from our new city call and he got the same treatment. That is beyond ignorant.
They told us they left with our stuff 3 days ago. And now they said we owe them $3000 more than what is written on our contract. We are reporting them to every agency that will let us. We are having family and friends blow up their facebook page.
And they had all this extra time to remove all of the public outcry from my family and friends, which was alot! But the manager Augustine still cant call us despite us asking the office chicks (Melissa and Anette) to have him call us.
This company must be some kind of cover for the real business they got going on under the table and I hope they get busted!
