I worked for Cactus Leasing for a VERY short time. In that time, I was told to run illegally to make sure loads were delivered on time. My E-logs were shut down and was told to "just pencil in 7 days of off duty on paper logs and fill in your closest city if you get pulled in and if DOT asks say someone brought you the trailer." My truck needed an alignment since day one. The alignment got progressively worse. While on hometime in Florida, I mentioned taking it to the shop. They wanted me to take it 1200 miles to Missouri to fix it. Being all "their" trucks are leased through Penske, I dropped the truck off at a Penske dealer and resigned. After resigning, I informed Mrs. Bates of the truck's location and that I found a new opportunity. Shortly thereafter I received my final paycheck. That "paycheck" was ONE PENNY. They charge you for your pre-hire stuff if you do not make six months. Rather than cancelling my insurance on the date I resigned, they took almost $700 out of my check for it. I have reported them to DOT and they are trying to lie on my DAC as well as employment verifications to other employers. My advice, if you are considering working here; RUN LIKE HELL THE OTHER WAY
As previous drivers state these people keep drivers money by not telling them about some paperwork that allows them to recoup monies they put out to get you there if you don't sign the paperwork then no job! And then you have to fend for yourself to find a way home. when I seen the truck I was to drive it was a 2017 but was in poor shape ie bad tires out of alignment interior smelled of cigarette smoke refrigerator so loose that I had to put old flip flop between sides to keep it from rattling. I went to 5 different Penske shops to get new tires and alignment done not getting paid anything JUNK! Also loni and craig in dispatch really have no idea what they are doing. In all my years of driving I have NEVER come across a dispatch team as this ie wrong load numbers not getting loads coordinated so that you didn't have to be two places at once making you late to either place then want you to pay the late fee.these people are not the Christian folks they try to portray. they will lie to you as they did to me, they are greedy and will find a way to keep your money. do not trust them or work for them. of course they will say I was at fault for everything but when you are so misinformed about things it is very frustrating they got me for 800$ please don't let them get you too
I went to work for Cactus-Leasing in Mesa AZ about three weeks ago. There equipment didnt work to allow me to slide my tandems of the trailer. A mechanic had to be called out twice to enable me to slide the tandems. I know how to slide the tandems. Jason the owner is very rude and arrogant. Dont think he has ever driven a truck. Tried to explain problem to him but did no good.
After I delivered my product in Davenport, IA. I was told to take the truck to Penske in Davenport, IA. Upon arriving at Penske I was told to get my belongings out of the truck. I was instructed that I would be given 30 min to get my belongings out of the truck. I asked if I could my entire pay on a efs check to enable me to get back home. I was told by Tanelle that she could give me a $300 efs check. My greyhound ticket cost me $252 and $15 for my second box which I never received. Also I had to take a cab which cost me $40.
So I had to pay $307 of my own to get back home.
I also had two tires that blew out on I-70 in Denver. I was insructed by Jason on two blown out tires nearly 30 miles so he could save $100. The company has no integrity. My final check was shorted $1100. My final deposit was for .01. Jason and Tanelle have cheated other drivers. I spoke to other drivers who were done with in similar fashion. I urge drivers dont work for cactus transport unless you wish to be cheated.
