In November of 2021 I purchashed a Pelican Kayak. The kayak required to be registered but Cabela's would only send me the same email with a blank MSO that would not work. I did not even have a proper receipt. I did try to talk with the store manager but was give a department manage instead who was the one sending the same email. It has now been three months and I have not been able to register the kayak.

There is penaltys for not registering within 30 days to include extra taxes. If I get caught on the water with out registration the fines are in the hundreds of dollars. I tried to talk with Pelican who makes the boats and they do not respond to calls, emails or social media. After three months I am done. This kayak was well over a thousand dollars and I want people to know do not buy kayaks at Cabela's and do not buy Pelican kayaks if you are looking forany after the sale support.

I ordered a jacket from Cabela's online but they sent the wrong color. No problem. I signed in to Cabela's webstie to file a return claim. WTF??? Not only they won't credit the shipping charge but the return shipping would be deducted from my refund, too, and it was higher than the shipping that they won't credit! I tried to resolve it over the phone but they basically promised that they'll give a full refund and not charge me for returning the item. No email or text backing up this promise. Yeah, right... I disputed the charge through my bank. Cabela's used to be a decent company before ASS_Pro Shops bought it out. Companies like these deserve to be eaten alive by Amazon if they insist on making up for their loses by exploiting customers.

My question required immediate attention from a CSR because it involved an expired free shipping code that was only 1 day past at the time of my inquiry.

After not receiving any response via email, I called the customer service phone number and was un-lucky enough to get the CSR from HELL, who refused to help me whatsoever!!!

As my concern stated, I had 2 items in my cart for 2 days without knowing when the free shipping code expired and to my surprise, it expired the day before I went back to the cart to purchase it. Had many things going on at the time (before Christmas) and simply forgot to complete the purchase. Received a reminder email from Cabelas on Sunday 12/20/15 that the items were still in the cart and when I went to purchase them thats when I discovered the free shipping deal was no longer available. Tried to get someone in customer service to help me get the free shipping to no avail. So, I purchased the items from Gander Mountain and got an even better deal because they not only price match competitors, but they also give an extra 10% discount. I wont be shopping at Cabelas anymore because of this incident and their lack of response to correct the situation. Now I see why there are so many bad reviews online about Cabelas (LACK OF) customer service.

DON’T GO TO CABELA’S IN ALLEN TEXAS. YOU WILL BE TALKED DOWN TO, HUMILITED, MADE TO LOOK LIKE A BUM IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS AND OTHER SALES PEOPLE. THEN MR. KAVANSKI WILL LIE RIGHT TO YOUR FACE AND TELL YOU THAT YOU’RE GETTING A $100.00 DISCOUNT BUT ONLY GIVE YOU $50.00

Yes I had a great salesman by the name of Bob. Bob was doing great until Dawn and Will arrived to assist Bob. Dawn and Will make it seem like I was a bum, a little kid, putting me down, made me feel like an idiot for asking questions. Bob was doing his best while Dawn and Will were talking down to me. All I wanted was to see a box that had a stamp on it that read this gun doesn't come with an empty shell. Dawn and Will assured me that I was an idiot for even questioning them. Bob wanted to go find a box and Dawn and will persisted that I was an idiot for even asking to question them. I then said forget it I have money to give you but you guys don't want it. I was furious. As I was leaving I asked to speak with the manager and Justin came. I explained to Justin and was crying because Dawn and Will made me feel like a f****** BUM. Then Justin called for Kavanski and told Dawn and Will to get off the floor. Mr. Kavanski took me back to the gun section and helped me with the gun purchase and Mr. Kavanski told me that I was getting a $100.00 discount. I was happy with that, and that Mr. Kavanski would take care of Dawn and Will personally. I was thankful as I was wiping away my tears, (as I am a disabled Veteran) and Mr. Kavanski reassured me that the problem would be taken care of.

As I get home and look at my receipt I noticed that my receipt was for the total of $494.99 not $449.00 as it should have been with a $100.00 discount. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was so distraught when I was there I didn’t even bother to look at the receipt. I have called Justin the store manager and left a message with him and also called Mr. Kavanski 3 times hoping that it was a mistake on Mr. Kavanski end. But no they lied to me and just let me be humiliated and had Dawn and Will put down in front of people working there plus the additional customers. I hate this place. I am not happy at all. I am writing you about this and I want this resolved. I am gonna place this all over the internet about the people you have working for Cabela’s in Allen Texas. I warned Mr. Kavanski on my 3 time leaving him a message about what I was gonna do, now I’m in the process of doing it and I am calling Fox 4 news about this. I am so pissed that Mr. Kavanski would lie to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
