Juan, John Calderon from Chicago – professional Liar and Con Artist – DO NOT BELIEVE HIM!
Juan (John) Calderon got my name from our mutual friend, Rocky Arsenio Bergante. I have met Juan Calderon on August 2nd, 2018 at the restaurant in west suburbs of Chicago. Juan introduced himself as a real estate agent working for Buzz Properties and presented his business card from this company. Buzz Properties is a real estate company with office address at 211 W Wacker Dr, 3rd floor, Chicago IL 60606 (shared office space) with managing broker Cherrie Smith.
At the beginning of October 2018 he started talking about this local government program (Chicago area) he is participating in as a realtor, where he buys properties and resell them at the profit to real estate investors. In the middle of October 2018 he explained his situation on one of his deals in Elmwood Park, IL he was about to close and running short on initial down payment deposit.
He asked for $20,000 originally, but I told him I don’t have that kind of money. We talked some more and he proposed $4,000 investment for period of 45 days to get back $6,500. Before agreeing to it, I have called Rocky, to ask if Juan is a trustworthy guy and if he has done deals like that with him before.
I was assured by Rocky, that Juan always pays his debt and that he was paid back all the money promised on the deal he was working on with Juan before. I was told by Juan, that if the deal falls apart, he will get the initial down payment back and will return the $4,000. We have signed promissory note mentioning investment amount, the property etc.
Since then, I have been lied to numerous times about delays, him traveling all over the country, then about closing happening as “dry closing” with later disbursement, which never took place. Later Juan admitted that there was no closing, and he is working on getting my money back or he will get it from other transactions he is working on. I have requested my original investment back and he is still refusing to return my money feeding stories of problems with check clearing, delays with other closings even lies about his girlfriend’s father being in ER dying. This guy is a professional liar and con artist – DON’T BELIEVE A WORD HE IS SAYING!
The transaction, all communication via texts and e-mails proving his dealings and deception has been documented and will be provided upon request.
Since then I have done some due diligence (I should have done at first place, instead of trusting our mutual friend) and discovered that Juan’s License has been suspended in Nov 2017.
I have also found out that Juan Calderon even with suspended license is still working on and is closing real estate transactions in managing broker’s name, Cherri Smith.
Since than I have confronted Cherri Smith, managing broker of Buzz Properties, to which she replied that Juan Calderon is not working for her company.
Rocky Bergante has been informing me about his efforts of getting my money back, with no positive results either.
Through their deceptive practice and lies, it looks like they are very proficient in this process and all signs are very characteristic of a PONZI SCHEME, so I have reasons to believe I am NOT the only victim of their scheme.
