They're strongly bait and switch. Stephen was arrogant and pompous and a horror to deal with. After going back and forth with him for a while, he agreed to cancel my order. But, not until he tried his best to switch me off to a lesser TV while acting like it was a wonderful deal. It WASN'T. Remember, he didn't have the TV that was (and still is) on their website. Very bad experience overall.
On May 19, 2015 I purchased a 60" Samsung LCD TV from these people. I received it 5/27/15. The picture went out (I've been having problems) 5/1/16 so I called the manufacturer to get it repaired under the 1 year warranty. They tell me it's been already registered and is out of warranty. I explain that I bought it less than a year ago and they wanted me to send my receipt which I did. Samsung calls me back and informs me the TV is reconditioned. I am now furious so I call Buy Squad and the guy in customer service asks me what "reconditioned" meant. This is odd since I now see a number of complaints with the BBB over them selling reconditioned items as new. He then says there must be some mistake and since my tv is a 2014 model, manufacturer's warranties are 1 year from the date of manufacture, which is rediculous. They are 1 year from the date of purchase or everything in existance with a warrenty has a declining term on the warrenty when you purchase it. I gave him the REF# with Samsung and he said he would get back to me within 24 hours which, of course, has not happened. I guess I just got screwed. I wish I would have investigated this company before I purchased this TV. This is a $1,200 mistake!
Do not buy anything from Buy Squad unless you want to get ripped off! I purchased a 55" Samsung TV from them and they delivererd a broken tv to my office. I contacted them to let them know and six weeks later they delivered another broken tv. It's been six months now and they haven't responded to my emails, phone calls to even give me an explanation.
The person I dealt with was named Mark Davis, and he's proven to be a conplete liar.
I hope this company goes out of bussiness soon so they aren't able to steal anyone elses money.
So somehow I bought a tv brand new but Samsung says is refurbished. Samsung sent a rep to my house gave me a bill that was more than the tv and buy squad stuck me with the 150 dollar bill for the rep to come out. They told me they would cover it and makes things right. Never did. MARK IS HARDER TO GET AHOLD OF THAN OSAMA BIN LANDEN. TRUE SCAMR ARTIST . HE TELLS YOU ANYTHING TO GET YOU OFF THE PHONE AND WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR WITH NO INTENTION OF CALLING YOU BACK OR FUFILLING HIS PROMISE. GUES WHAT??? I HAVE HIS PERSONAL CELL.HERE IT IS 917 514 0110. THE SECOND TECHNICIAN WAS SO DIGUESTED BY HIM AND HOW BADLY HE RIPPED ME OFF HE GAVE ME HIS PERSONAL NUMBER . WE SHOULD ALL CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BURIOR AND REALLY SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN!!!!!
I purchased 2 Samsung HD TVs online from BuySquad. They "appeared" to have the best pricing. After several days, I received a phone call to confirm the order and shipping information. At the very end of the call, the agent indicated that any TVs over 55" required insurance during transit to prevent damage, theft, etc. The charge was 6% of the price. I told the agent that I was not aware of any additional fees not included during check-out and he gave some lame excuse that the amount isn't quoated at check-out because they need to calculate it based on the shipping address (which they do have at check-out), blah, blah, blah. When I indicated that I would not be willing to pay this fee ($180.00 on my order), I cancelled the order and decided to buy elsewhere.
Never having heard of BuySquad before this purchase, I had googled to find out any information about the company and their rating with BBB. I should have taken the overwhelming advice online with their extremely lower customer service rating and saved the time and aggrevation by shopping elsewhere. The lower price than any of their competitiors now makes sense when you add this extra (non-disclosed) 6% fee to your total. Avoid this scam.
