I hired a company in Reston, VA, called Build Business Results. I “met” the owner, Raksha Sukhia, at a virtual meeting. She seemed to know about digital marketing, so I hired her to help me with a new service where I help people write their life stories.
The pricing was not clear to me, but Ms. Sukia charged me $787.00 a month, more than any of the programs on the website. On the website it said the job would take about 8 weeks. All that happened in those eight weeks were lost emails and a carelessly designed website.
I previously had a WIX website, and she said I needed a WordPress site. I’m 72, and I understand WIX, but not WordPress, so I’m completely dependent on her.
Her team made a mess trying to integrate my four email accounts into one (not my request), and most of my emails disappeared. They spent a few days trying to recover them, but they were only able to recover half of my emails. Then the team made an embarrassing website for me. I do some speaking to senior groups, and they all want to check me out as a speaker. All of my speaking engagements were on my WIX website, but on the website they built, they put two of my speaking gigs three times and four of them twice. Then they included YouTube videos that I had watched and of other people speaking about my product—not of me speaking. I told them about that a week ago, and they said they would fix it, but they didn’t.
I have emailed and called numerous times, and they don’t respond. However, they sent me some rude responses by text message. Here are a few of them:

We are a professional business and you are treating us like your outsourcer shop and name calling is n to only highly unprofessional but not decent! We are not you on-call agency. We do not work at your beck and cal. We have and will detail with an hourly rate what we have done for you and will not put anything back without charging for time. Your tone is totally unprofessional and inappropriate. And we do NOT wor for free.. I shall have to block you if you continues to harassment. I told you I will write you and email when we have and opportunity to do so detailing the terms and actions we will take to terminate the contract with he 20 days notice from Dec 2. Please CEASE AND DESIST IMMEDIATELY.

I told them I wanted them to restore everything I had before I hired them; I was too trusting when I hired them, but I don’t trust their careless work now. And after eight weeks, they have gotten me NO business.
Yesterday, December 4, the company sent me a new bill for $787.00 for the month of December and took it out of my credit card, but they texted me right after that not to contact them again. They will charge me hourly for any more work, including fixing their mistakes. I wonder what the $787.00 was for.
I have never reported a company before, but this company, Build Business Results, did not meet their objectives and instead are disrupting my operations for my business.
