We even visited another house he was currently working on. What we did not do is talk to the owner of the house. He will do some work to build trust with you and then have "personal issues", drag your project out for weeks and then take the money and run.
Budson construction/henry kiner signed a contract with our real estate investment company on 4/17/15 as general contractor to oversee renovations on a single family home in houston, tx for a specific scope of work, to provide materials and labor, and for work to be completed by 5/1/15 for payment of $22,850. Budson construction/henry kiner was fired on 5/27/15 after being paid $19,500 and only completing half the work. He argued that he was "caught up on the money". However, he did sign a contract saying he would complete all of the work for the agreed price. We also had 2 other experienced real estate investors view the property and agree that the work was only half completed.
We sent a certified demand letter for $9,000 refund to the last known address - the address that he wrote on the contract - on 8/12/15 with no response.
Since firing budson construction/henry kiner, we have learned that budson construction, llc was terminated with the secretary of state on 12/18/13 and the federal tax id number we were given on the contract was not that of budson construction, llc. We are concerned that henry kiner is fraudulent on these matters and not trustworthy to other businesses and the public. We also learned that he has over $800,000 of judgements against him in harris county.
We have also filed a complaint against budson construction/henry kiner with the better business bureau.
