I rented a Toyota Camry 2022 from the ridge road location when I picked up the car it had not been washed on the outside at all it looked like a week maybe it was clean on the inside though. I rented it for a week until I could get a loaner car from the shop my Car is in getting worked on.
I returned it on February 9th as per agreement at 9:45 am before the 10:00 am check-in filled the gas tank to full and has my neighbor follow me so I could pick up loaner afterwards I stood around and waited on employee and then she walked around the car and noted no damages to car. Then 2 and and half hours later some woman calls me from Budget screaming at the top of her lungs that there was considerable damages to the front end of the car that she couldn't see because it was dirty.
She demanded that I bring my insurance in at her scheduled time. I did not Because I knew I did not cause damage to the car I contacted Corporate and waited for 6 days for pictures of damages that was at first notated as Budget received no report my receipt shows balance owed zero no damages I asked budget to check cameras to see if employees caused damages because I did not these are the receipts and photos.
Well… where do I start? Maybe with the over 35 minute wait to be able to finally board one of the very rare Budget shuttles at LAX airport. Or the fact that calling customer care to complain about this was fruitless, because I was just put on hold for over 20 minutes, till I just hung up. Two shuttles zoomed by on the left lane of the LAX terminal, completely ignoring the very displeased crowd of customers who unsuccessfully tried to call the drivers’ attention by waving and yelling.
Or maybe when the 3rd shuttle finally stopped and all customers were packed into it, with NO social distancing, during this deadly pandemic. Or maybe it was when I arrived at the Budget office, and realized that all the information provided to the company on the website or even the early payment, were simply useless. Because though the company’s website claimed that filling out extra information (like drivers license, address, etc) and paying for your rental in advance were the key to “breeze through the check in process” it was only a lie.
All info provided on the website was simplu disregarded and every customer had to wait a long time in a long line and then answer the very same questions from the website AGAIN at the check in counter. Oh! Wait!! I know. I know what is the factor that influences me the most to NEVER want to use this company again: the horrible customer service rendered by the lady who collected and processed my information at the check in counter. Not only was she impolite, with an aggressive atitude, but never, in any moment apologized for all I described above.
Instead, the words out of her mouth were: “Well sir, it’s up to you!” As if I’d be able to cancel the reservation I had already paid for and walk 5 miles on foot to the next car rental company near the airport. And all that while my poor exhausted family waited at terminal 4, for two hours already. That lady was the icing on the cake of this nightmare. This was the very last time I do business with this company
On December 20 I put gas on the rental car that I was dropping to the location on Airport location, I had it changed it for another car, since the first car I had was not working right and had a engine light on, so when I DROP the car full of gas of course, they didn't mention nothing. When I DROP the last car, then they told me i need to paid the first car gas since it was not full , I told them that it was full and that I have the receipt for it, I talk to ERIN which is the manager, she told me that she was going to look at it, in a rude unprofessional way;( never return my call, I had talk to her manager and he said that their scale said it was not full, which is a lied, they just want to keep the $13 dollars, is not much about the money is that fact they are stealing from customers with their lies also they said they can charge me $25 For everyday that i didn't drove the car because no one should drive the car only me, I said when I send the car with my husband and my daughter I was working, so they trying to get more money out me, BAD COMPANY UMPROFESSIONAL RUDE STAFF, NEVER EVER RENT FROM THEM AND SURE DON'T RECOMEND THEM, AVOID HAVING TO GO TROUGH THIS PLEASED!!!!!
Rented a car through ICBC while my car was in for minor repairs for an accident. ICBC had my car insurance ccover the rental car. A rock hit the in the center of the windshield, just below the rear view mirror, not in the drivers view. rented car windshield, in town, and made a minor rock chip. After investigating on the web I found that Budget has a reputation for rip offs on windshield repairs. So I took the car in mself and paid for a rock chip repair. This is a repair that ICBC would have padi for on my own car.
When I returned the car they said there was a rock chip and that they would be having it repaired. I said I already hadd it repaired and they said that rock chip repairs were not acceptable and that company policy was to replace the windshield.
I stated that this was a very minor chip, and that if they charged me that I would never rent from Budget again. They stated that they would be putting a claim in to my car insurance for a new windshiled. I know if this was my personal car ICBC would not approve a new windshield.
Rented an economy car from Budget Renta A Car at Orlando International Airport location. Rental rate of $24.02 per day (including tax). Asked counter attendant about refueling in case I was rushed to catch return flight. She said that Budget would refill for cost of gasoline only. The local fuel rate is < $2/gal.
The car that I drove, less than 120 hours, has a combined gas mileage of 31 mpg. So, used less than 4 gallons of gasoline. I even brought the car back same day, more than 13 hours early. Brought car straight back to airport hoping in a rush to catch an earlier flight, the last for the night. Wasn't able to, but wasn't able to then take the rental car to top off for gasoline.
Budget charged $9.90 per gallon for gas! That is price-gouging plain and simple. No where in the policies (e.g., online) does it state that rate. And, morever, when I specifically asked about the Budget representative about refueling she did _NOT_ disclose that price.* One might assume they'd charge a bit more for gas (would assume no more than $1 per gallon above market rate), but $9.90 per gallon?!
*Well, she was busy texting on her smartphone while "attending" to me, so I can see where too much information would have caused inconvenience to her.
Rented a car for my wife online at Budget. Declined the optional insurance of $ 25 per day!!!!! Paid in advance by credit card. At LAX she was told, she cannot have the car unless she agrees to insurance. So she checked the box for insurance. At the hotel she found out that they charged her $ 225 for 9 days. She had to return the car the next day, because she could not reach the gaspedal comfortably. I told her to tell the counter very clearly that she does not want the insurance and that they should cancel the remaining 8 days.
Again the counter told her that You have to sign the insurance in Los Angeles by law. So she left and went on her planned round trip. I was furious. Called the LAX counter 20 times. Only answering machine on at a 24/7 counter. Called customer support. They checked and said, that at LAX insurance is optional.Next day I reached the counter. They said insurance is required. After I corrected him, he said my wife insisted on insurance. I told him to cancel it. He said she has to come to the counter to cancel it.
Break off her round trip and her vacation to correct their lies???? Got connected to the branch manager. He said it was not company policy to coerce customers into insurance policies. And that she had to come to the counter to take off the insurance. So apparently I!!!! was the lyer and declined the optional insurance online because I!!!! am an idiot. They are obviously preying on inexperienced customers and coercing them into an insurance, that costs $ 9,125.00 per year.
