Broward County Traffic and DUI School Reviews
After getting a DUI, I was required as a 1st offender to take a DUI class to get my license reinstated. I contacted, Broward County Traffic and DUI School(Broward - Dade Safety Council). As a requirement before taking the class, I had to go for a psychosocial evaluation given by an employee to determine if i have a potential substance abuse. I didn't think anything about it because I don't do drugs and I really don't even drink, yet i managed to get a DUI on that rare occasion that I did drink.
Immediately into the evaluation, the lady evaluating me was being condenscending, asking if I have ever done drugs, alcohol, etc in my life and not thinking, I said yes, over a decade ago there were times when I might have tried something, I have rare occasions of having a beer, etc. This conversation went on, she insinuated several times that I was lying when I said I don't do drugs.
I also took a written test, which I passed. Yet, she was determined to get me to crack and fess up. She had me trying to remember every little inncident in life I had with alcohol or drugs. This went on, no matter what I said she did not believe me. As a result, she decided and declared that I was a substance abuser and now would need to take substance abuse classes and counseling.
I did not accept this answer and asked to speak to supervisor. I was greeted by man who said he would listen to my objections, but not much he could do. I told him I don't do drugs or really drink, he said, " then what am I doing here", and after a few unkind words were exchanged, and me declaring I can't afford to pay more fees and registrations, he told me, if you can believe this, to take my "drug money" and purchase the counseling classes.
So basically, this was a set up from the very beginning. This is an agency, given power by the state of Florida to not just offer DUI classes, but to railroad you into other state certified agencies to counsel you on substance abuse because an employee (not a doctor, no positive drug test, etc)in the office decided after talking to you you are an abuser. This is a SCAM!!! This is people making money off of destroying other people because they made a mistake. I went in to take a class as a 1st offender and came out labled a substance abuser who must now enroll in more state certified counseling classes at an enormous financial cost I can't afford. If I don't take these costly classes, they will not give me back my drivers license. This is Blackmail at its finest and a complete set up to continue making money off of people who walk through their doors to take DUI classes.
Section 316.193 Florida Statue, allows Broward County Traffic and DUI School to determine you are a substance abuser. Yes, they apparently can tell you have a drug/alcohol problem without medical evaluation, blood test, etc. They declare you a possible danger on the highway, report you to the DMV where your license will continue to be held hostage even after you finish taking your DUI class and pass.
Do Not allow these people to trick you into being their next victim. Please Google and do your research before going here. I plan to publicly post more and hopefully find more victims of this Traffic and DUI school to speak out.
Do Not admit verbally or in written exams to having ANY alcohol or drugs, etc. at any time in your life except for this one time that brought you to class.
Sad but True, they can and will use this to declare you a danger to society. Yes, I know some people are a danger, but some people are not. But can be put through hell if they admit to having 1 oz of anything at any other time in their life.
