I tried to buy an IPTV package from this company, based in Barcelona, Spain.
Their website www.britsat.tv gives a price of €445 for their Pro package. After ringing them siad that it would cost a further €25 for post and packing, no problem there. Their website offers PayPal, so I proceeded to carry-out this transaction. I rang the company's offices to confirm postal charges, and was told they would send me the PayPal details; this was a little strange as they have a PayPal link on their web page.
So, I received an email stating that I should pay into their personal, friends & family PayPal account, which offers the buyer zero PayPal protection, and not into their company Paypal account. I wrote back to them asking for clarity on this, and they replied that all their customers do this, but if I didn't want to do this I should then pay an extra €18 fee, to cover their PayPal costs.
I pointed out to them that nowhere on their website and at no time during the sales call was it mentioned that you must pay by 'friends & family' and that if you didn't want to do this, you had to pay an €18 surcharge.
They refused to answer any of my queries, and just said either accept it or go elswhere.
Clearly this company is mis-selling here, misleading potential customers, and in turn inserting hidden fees into their sale. They ignored all of my concerns despite raising them in a fair and reasoned manner.
I gave them an opportunity to put things right: that is, complete this transaction in an honest and professional way, given reassurances that they would, in future, notify customers to their website that they are expected to pay a PayPal fee that they, as the seller, don’t wish to pay; and also that if they don’t wish to pay they can pay using friends and family PayPal, which offers them zero payment protection should something happen to their order. Is this what passes for Customer Service these days?
Given their totally disinterested and lacklustre response ,I feel obliged to inform the public at large, via social media, of the concerns I have raised here, so that others will not be duped by your mis-selling and mis-leading actions.
