Was talked out of apple care by an employee in favor of this brightstar plan...Worst thing i have ever done...Will not pay up.

Said my account was cancelled due to non payment...I have had the money come off my cc since the beginning. I have proof i have been paying, they refuse to honor it.

6 months now.

I have a 256 gb iphone x... Do not waste your time. Read the reviews, worst company ever

BRIGHT STAR

Fido's protection plan "Bright Star Device Protection" is a scam and has the worst customer service ever. DO NOT GO WITH FIDO OR GET THERE BRIGHT STAR, Fido is supporting this company which is complete garbage. I have still not received my phone after paying monthly for this stupid insurance, I have spoken with multiple people from bright star fido got the run around, sent in over 10 documents to prove my proof of address they reject every document. Claiming my car registration doesn't have my address on it. They have 301 bad reviews and only shitty reviews on the forum fido page discovered after looking into there reviews. WORST NIGHTMARE. Will be over a month by the time I get my phone replaced if they approve my document. the manager saying to highlight where my address is on my car insurance. DEAR Porsha (Manager) I can't highlight a picture!!??! They do not value and help there customers only give you a run around, If i did not just sign a contract with FIDO I would cancel for the fact they offer this garbage to their customers!!!!!

BEWARE OF SCAM

Charges were being applied to my credit card titled "Device Protection Plan". Had no idea what it was for. Called my service provider and they did not know what it was either. Had to cancel my credit card and initiate a fraud investigation. Today I received an email from Brightstar which said the following:

Dear (my name was inserted here)

We recently had issues processing your credit card for your monthly program fee.

No worries! You can easily update your payment information by logging into your account on www.brightstarprotect.com/themobileshop or by calling 844-225-6333.

Be sure to act quickly to avoid cancellation or lapse in your coverage.

I called the number provided and spoke with gentleman who said his name was 'MAKENDEL'. He asked what my old credit card # was, my phone #, email address and the serial # of my phone and claimed they had no record of me at all.?????????? So who exactly was withdrawing????FRAUD ALERT.

Can't wait for the result of my fraud investigation!!!!

My bank account has been drafted for 23.57 from August 2015 till August 2017. I didn't notice the charge till this past August. There was a number on the bank draft and I called it multiple times and no one would answer. I called VERIZON and they said they were not responsible and didn't know who was drafting the money out.

I called cellular sales and they didn't know who I was and no information on me for device coverage. I notified bank and they done a search and found it had been taken out the past 2 years. The bank tried to notify techprotect and couldn't no one to answer I have had over 750.00 taken from my account in a scam.

What are we paying for

I have never had such poor customer service! My phone went out two weeks ago. I called, paid my deductible, and was sent a replacement phone. The new phone was broken, so I called again and told them the replacement phone was not working. They apologized and I received another replacement phone the next day. This phone could not be activated because it was a phone from a different carrier. So, I called back and was told they could not file a claim until the phone was activated. I told them it was with the wrong carrier and couldn't activate it. So they put a claim in and " accelerated" it. That was last week and today I received an email saying they need more information in order to process the claim. I called them back to ask why I had to send them my ID for verification when they were the ones who messed up. All they kept saying over and over was, "you have to send in the affidavit and your ID before we can process your claim." "It's to protect you from identity fraud." These idiots are so full of, you know what.

Still don't have a working phone. So very angry........

Brightstar Protection has been my insurance carrier for my phones for 2 years. We pay a total of $37.96 per month to "cover" 4 phones. One of the phones, an Iphone 5c is not charging. We attempted to file a claim only to find out that there is a deductable that requires us to pay 1/3 of the 2015 cost of the phone or $199.00 max. This phone retailed in 2015 at $600.00. Current iphone 5c costs are from $89 to $139.00. Basically they are having me pay for the cost of the phone at the 2017 cost, in fact quite a bit more. This is a scam.

I am on the phone with them as I type, trying to talk to a supervisor. I have been on hold now for :45 minutes and counting. The system has also diverted me to a regular customer service hold.

What is the point of having insurance if you are actually going to pay for a phone anyway?

I called esecuritel insurance for my virgin mobile phone for repair. this company is also called brightstar. I filed a claim and received a replacement phone that had the same problem my old phone had.They send you a refurbished phone even if yours is 1 month old. I called them and they said they would submit the claim. I thought they would send me an email to notify me on what to do but no. Thus 2 weeks later i called back and they said the case was closed i had to fill out an escalation paper to get another phone. I did so and they said the numbers i put on form were wrong even though i went over the numbers with the phone rep and she said they were correct, They said it was my responsibility to call them in 48 hrs to see if they would accept the claim.They do not call the customer. I filled out a second one and was told same problem was again wrong numbers on form. I then called as i needed a new form and they said they would send me one as my printer was broken. I never received the new form, When i called today they said my case was over 60 days old and was no longer open.I asked what happens when there is a problem with the claim as in my case . They replied that the 60 days does not stop when there is a problem. That if the problem is not solved in 60 days the claim is cancelled. I was frustrated so i said i had another problem with the phone(which i did but it was not bothering me)and can i pay an additional $50 and open up a new clain. The rep said "no as that is called putting on additional claims and that is not allowed as you did not tell us about problem till the claim was cancelled". I have has no good experience with this company and this is my second claim in 3 years. They procrastinate with the customer untill the 60 days is up then cancell the claim. Virgin mobile is the company that uses this insurance and if you have virgin as your carrier this is only company you can deal with through them. Do NOT use this company unless you want a run around and nothing but bad customer service.,
