Brian J. Shimkus, MD Reviews
Brian and I know each other professionally and personally although not through Austin Cancer Centers where he currently works. I write this review because people should consider the Dr. Shimkus they meet might just be a mask, a personality, or worse. Perhaps your gut makes you feel something is off about him. I offer my observations and opinions for you to judge whether behind the vernier of those sweet blue eyes or his intelligent professional demeanor might just be a cold dark despicable man that your gut warned you about but your visual and mental faculties dismiss. This is for you to decide. Ultimately if you will see some patients report Dr. Shimkus to be warm and caring, but keep digging and you'll find others who have found him cold, aloof, and uncaring.
I personally reached the point that I must stand against death capitalism, greed, and the many horrible more personal byproducts this man leaves in his wake. Professionally I believe his decisions are influenced by an appalling idolization of money and his view of patients are save who he can and go through the motions to bill the rest. In his personal life, which I was told has crept into his professional life, is stained in what I can only describe as an insatiable deviant sexual dark side. His questionable professional and sordid personal affairs have shaken my belief in our medical system and have made me sad for society.
For patients, I heard numerous stories from nurses at how Dr. Shimkus outright ignores patients who he told were to be given specific tests or told he would folllow up with them only to be ignored. A few stories of where family members of a close-to-death or dead patients wanted to talk to Dr. Shimkus to get answers or simply to find closure and Brian would coldly ignore them sometimes right in their face. Who would do such a thing? The nurse said she felt so bad for the families, mostly because of how cold Dr. Shimkus' reaction to their grief seemed to make him angry.
Where does the line of inappropriate start to get crossed when your drug reps and clinical trial engagements involve lavish trips, chemical and booze filled group sex parties mixed with small amounts of conference time. It's a good thing they are physicians because medicating themselves back into sobriety isn't a big concern when Brian has to wear the Dr. Shimkus mask! Trips on Brian's private plane can get pretty bumpy and turbulence can be a big turn on for Brian. Brian is a member of an elite swinger club I've been too several times. I overheard a fellow club member refer to Brian's plane as the Lolita Express but the way he said it didn't sound like he referenced it that way in a joking manner. Nurses who have worked for Dr. Shimkus- well, I know one who said Brian seduced her after work one day which ended in a way she felt so humiliated by what was done to her that she said made her go to counseling. There are other rumors I've heard but my knowledge of what goes on in certain clubs remains under seal of strict non-disclosure agreement one must sign to get in. Swingers aren't bad people generally but some are known to take things further than what's allowed in the club. If the club is your starting point for the real kink...
Brian J. Shimkus you will see is a Board Certified MD and family man. His wife Dina Shimkus is beautiful, smart, and loving mother. Kids at home and in college. Life seems great. This Dr. Shimkus donates to charity and is active in his community. This is the mask he wears most of the time. I hope for his family's sake that he wears this mask at home and his wife remains pleasantly unaware as so many in our community do.
