Brian was asked to come over to evaluate and provide an estimate for work on the exterior of the house. He claimed that he could not paint at the moment but then proceeded to ask if I had a ladder. I presumed that he was evaluating the exterior.
The next thing I knew he was taking ivy from my house and claimed that I needed to replace some gutter nails with gutter screws. I asked him to come look at the bathroom that had been previously painted but needed to be redone. He said he could do it and went for paint as well as gutter screws.
Brian told me he worked hourly at $16/hour. No mention was made of parts or supplies.
Four (yes, 4) days later, he had taken it upon himself, despite being asked not to, to work on my hallway. He claimed it was because he needed to let the paint dry.
This man is a con and charged us $656 for 4 days of work. He painted the bathroom (badly - he did not clean up after himself and there is paint on the floor and tile), started on my hallway and cleaned the gutters and ivy from the side of the house.
This work is not worth that much money but the reason I am filing this report is to allow others to beware. I was told he was excellent and that his work was thorough - not that he would come to my house and do work he was asked not to do. I hired him to fix the gutters and paint the bathroom; that is all.
Do not hire this man - when confronted with his dishonesty and manipulation, he was confrontational with my husband and claimed that his work was the best. I can attest to the fact that that is not true.
