I was treated by an orthopeadic dr for back and knee issues. He gave me a back and a knee brace by Breg. Neither helped the problem and i was not informed of the cost of these items or would never have accepted them. Both can be purchased for a fraction of their charge elsewhere. The total for the two submitted to insurace was over 2200.00 and i was billed for almost 400 of it. Breg does the billing and i needed to split payment of it and they were very ugly. They seriously overcharged for those items and should be checked into.
Two years ago I had knee surgery at the time I was covered by two insurance companies. This company charged my primary insurance $900 for a pair of crutches. The first insurance paid the majority of the claim, at which the secondary insurance would have paid the remaining exsorbant costs. Fast forward two years later, Breg sends me a bill for the remaining amount. I contact them to see if they filed with my secondary insurance company, they had not and said I needed to confirm my information to file with them; I confirmed the information and thought everything was fine. Again I get an invoice for the amount for the remaining $900, again I call to confirm my information so they could submit to my insurance. After the third phone call to the billing department to confirm my information I called it quits. If they are unable to follow through to get their money the problem is not my problem. I recieved a letter from a collection agency today for the remaining amount. I will be contacting my attorney tomorrow. If your doctor tells you a brace is needed DO NOT use this company and do not sigh their paperwork!!
