Braintree Payments Reviews
By taking the money out of my bank in the form of a chargeback. Meaning apparently a stolen credit card was used in the purchase yet instead of VISA guaranteeing the purchase that was proven delivered by tracking they went back into my acct. took my money AFTER PRODUCTS HAND MADE WERE CREATED AND DELIVERED.
VISA SHOULD HAVE BEEN LIABLE FOR THIS INCIDENT NOT THE MERCHANT.
Braintree is one of the most deceptive merchant service providers out there. They are in bed with other review sites so it looks like they are a highly rated company at first glance but when you look closely you can see that most of the customers are not satisfied with their service. Everyone knows that credit card processing is a high-risk business that is heavily regulated and processing companies should have the right to review businesses that they process payments for. But Braintree goes a totally wrong way about it.
They will open your account right away and give you an allusion that you are all good to go. Don’t get to excited. They will take their time to review your account and if they decide that your business is “not worth their while” they will drop you. This can happen months after you open your account. It looks like they like to play with big boys only (Uber, GitHub, Dropbox). If your business processes large amount of credit card sales you should be just fine, if not you are just a waste of resources to them.
If you run a small business or you are developing an app/SaaS product and you are considering using them I would recommend to look elsewhere. You can spend tons of time coding and integrating with their API and then be unceremoniously informed that you are not good enough for them to do business with.
I run multiple business and Braintree was a backup merchant service provider that I planned to use with WHMCS. Because they have no “monthly” fees it seemed like a logical choice, but don’t be fooled if they feel that you will not process sufficient amount with them they will just drop you. All they have to do is say that “you are high-risk” for them even though they are discriminating on other basis. Save yourself a headache and wasted time.
