I placed an order with Boomstreet on November 15, 2016 for items I intended to give as Christmas gifts. As the holiday approached, I became concerned. Boomstreet stated the items were delayed in a China factory. The items did not arrive until the afternoon of Christmas Eve (too late to give as gifts and I had to buy substitutes) and they arrived with no directions on use of the product. Requests for directions resulted in an electronic link for a different device. Finally, when I tested the device, it did not work. I e-mailed Boomstreet every 3 days asking for directions on how to process a return and asking for a refund. Boomstreet would not reply or would reply with more questions. At one point they agreed to refund my purchase. When I asked for a date when that would occur, the next message stated there would be no refund. They offered a company credit. I have no interest in doing business with them and would caution anyone from doing the same.
I purchased 3 bottles of Garcinia Cambogia as advertised for a special price from an email I received from Eversave. After a few months of hearing nothing, I get a response from BoomStreet apologizing that none of their vendors could fill my order, but no worries, a refund has been issued on my behalf of 150% of my purchase price. After contacting them when I did not receive a refund, they apologized once more explaining that it was a store credit only. I advised that if they could not fill my order, please issue an actual refund of my money to my card used for purchase. Reply stated that they recently acquired the rights to the name and email database of this company, but the company as it previously existed is no longer in business. Therefore, they could provide no refunds or credits for purchases prior to their invovlement. I let them know that I would be filing a formal complaint. If they acquire a company and cannot fulfill an order, they are obligated to provide a refund. Next reply was apology number four that they did not sell the vouchers or receive any of the revenues, so no refund.
I am usually a calm, happy online customer. I am a very unhappy customer of nCrowd.com - which, as I'm readying to file this, just changed it's name to Boomstreet.com - coincidence, that I'd threatened to expose them online as of 10/1/15???
I was very pleased with the prior website, spreebird.com , due to some good deals and it contributed to local outlets for charity that were benefiting by my online purchasing. However, when nCrowd.com took over (and I dare say Boomstreet will be the same way!), there was a diminished value in the products offered. I had one decent purchase, and had 3 bad purchases. Each time, I returned the item, they gave me 'online credit.'
After the 3rd purchase that was dissatisfactory, I tried to get my money back (only $10, but still!). I wrote to their email help@ncrowd folks, and got "Sam" who reassured me, due to my dissatisfaction, I could get a check issued to cover the $10, if I "filled out the attached form" and submitted it with the product return within 14 days. I sent it and tracked it, in June, and they got it promptly. I then waited. After 3 weeks with no return of my money, I started asking "Sam" about it; and suddenly Sam no longer responded to my emails. After accelerating my anger, "Sam" reappeared and stated that I couldn't get my cash back because "I had already accepted store credit, and this was paid with store credit!!" That made my blood boil....so here I am complaining and knowing that they are 'changing names' to avoid their responsibilities to those who are owed money. What recourse does one have, when they charge your credit card for the purchase, but then many months later, when I've made a 'store credit' purchase, they won't return the $ prepaid?
I think they are a 'shell game' that takes our money and then offers substandard products to 'buy' with our store credit, since they will never return our hard-earned cash! Don't buy from them...the products are so bad - I bought their 'travel electric toothbrush' and it looked like it was a 'child's toy.' I put in a fresh battery, and nothing happened and it was so flimsy - it would have been suitable for a child 'playing house!' That was the last item and it was what prompted this tirade! Thanks for listening!
I am frustrated tha I had my $50 ncrowd voucher that I purchased from ncrowd in good faith rejected by Rocco Plum Tomao because they say that ncrowd is a scam. they say ncrowd is not paing them and is going out of business.
