Bookkeeping and Accounting of Florida, Inc. Reviews
This review may be a little lengthy for some, but I hope the added explanation proves worthwhile.
Exercise great caution when dealing with Bookkeeping and Accounting of Florida! If you require competent, and professional business and/or personal tax work I would advise you (based on my costly, personal experience) to avoid this business altogether and take your business to a competent and accountable accountant!
The person in charge, woman (Juliya - "Yoo-lia" is her Ukrainian pronunciation) treated me with extreme arrogance and condescension. Prior to meeting her in-person, she seemed reasonably courteous and respectful. It was only after meeting her that her pronounced change in demeanor became obvious to me.
At every step of the process, when she or one of her employees made a mistake, she blamed me. Every single one of her attempts to blame me began with that one-word question: “Remember?” Well in fact I do remember; apparently far more than she can “remember”.
A more incompetent, unaccountable (and she calls herself an "accountant"), arrogant and self-absorbed person I have never met in my professional life!
I began speaking with Juliya late July or early August of 2019. I told her that I needed Business (S Corp) and Personal tax returns for 2018 and that I was late on my Corporate filing. She agreed to handle my accounts and told me to wait until she had more time, but that everything would be fine, even though there was a looming deadline.
We agreed that she would call me when she was ready to go to work on my accounts. I asked her a few times to send a written agreement outlining her services, but never got it. If you do work with her despite my warning, please get a written Agreement!
After a few weeks of waiting for Juliya's phone call, I decided to call her to be sure we were still on track for the filings of my returns. She said "Yes" but now she said she was backed up with late returns from her other clients and so turned me over to Brian, presumably one of her employees.
Brian was cooperative enough, but somehow included the wrong address on all pages of my Corporate return. Since the deadline had arrived the day I discovered these and other errors, I decided to go in to Juliya's office and make sure that all needed corrections had been made so that the deadline would not be missed.
I arrived at her office and no one was in the lobby, so I announced myself by my name and out peeps a woman’s head, looking at me in a very concerned manner. Then Juliya comes out of her office, with a very stern look on her face, speaking very abruptly and coldly. Now the "fun" commences as Juliya's blame game begins! First she refused to believe that that wrong address was entered on my return.
While trying to explain to her what had happened she relentlessly interrupted me as I spoke. According to her, it must have been a mistake on my part. She then goes into another room and yells (“Come in here!). So I went into the other office, where she was at a computer looking at my return.
She could see nothing wrong, so I showed her (page by page) where their mistakes lay. She finally admitted that the mistakes were made but sloughed them off very quickly. I then hurriedly signed the documents I was handed so that I could personally mail the returns, paid for their “services” with a credit card, and left the office.
As I’m in my car backing out of my space to leave, up comes one of her staffers yelling “Stop, stop!” The staffer gets to my car and hands me yet another bill. I paid the additional bill in good faith, not realizing that the services I thought I was paying for, I had not received.
