I was told in april landlord was selling house that we were renting by matthew and marge kochman,coldwell banker realitors on long island. we noticed rat droppings in april in the basement. the kochmans were the landlords property mgrs. they were told about it. they sent out exterminator and they set up traps outside. 6 weeks went by with no inprovement. they were fined by board of health. we left house on may 15, when a rat ran across kitchen floor and stayed with family while all our furniture was still in house.we moved out end of may, put our belongings in storage.
june 1st kockmans went in and changed the locks. i got a lawyer and wanted my half month rent for may, storage and uhaul cost and security. cost around $2700 total. my lawyer spoke with her lawyer once to try to negotiate. now her lawyer does not answer his calls. i am out $2700. what can I do.kochman team on long island are crooks and feed the landlord with info not to pay us.
