I have purchased a brand new Iphone Xs one week ago. At the point of purchase i installed a brand new screen protector and over that I installed a brand new rubber case. The glass screen protector has already broken. It cracked on one edge 1/4 of the way from the bottom. Nothing happened to this phone to cause this breakage. The phone was not dropped, I was not carrying keys in the same pocket, nothing bumped my pocket or phone. The glass has cracked a whole 1/8 of the screens area.
I contacted the company to claim a lifetime warranty. The company requested that I pay for the replacements shipping both ways. I do not think this is a fair request because the item was defective. I initiated a chat on their web-page, and was told the shipping was not a cost for repair. The cost is to ship the item. I offered to pick one up locally from the many retailers and was denied.
I requested they send a coupon to cover the cost of a replacement and they denied.
The manufacturer has agreed to ship the item at their cost if I send a copy of my receipt and photographs of the damaged item. I agreed to that, and i sent the requested documentation. The manufacturer has not responded to my emails. I have since sent an email to the customer care manager and the CEO, I have not given them adequate time to respond however I am still unhappy.
I have read 7 reports here, and multiple other reports on other websites such as amazon and it seems the manufacturing defect is a known issue. Most of the reports on this website and others show the merchandise either lasts for a long time and is damaged due to customer mishandling, or the product breaks almost immediately. I know the screen protector was not miss-installed because the manufacturer sends an installation jig. I know the screen protector was not miss-installed on dirty glass, because it was brand new.
My request is that the manufacturer accept this defect in manufacturing and therefore add to their warranty that they accept all replacement requests within the first 30 days free of charge shipping or otherwise.
When I received my note 8 I purchased a Bodyguardz screen protector. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! In the last nine months I had to replace the protector 6 times!! Just went to replace it again and they raised the price of shipping the replacement to $10!!! WFT $10 to ship a tiny screen protector?? This is such a scam. I spoke with them on chat and they would not help me and just said thats what it cost because the protectors ar curved (are you kidding me??). I am telling everyone here to so with or stick with ZAGG screen protectors. I had it on my last phone and it broke once in 2 years and was only $5 to ship a new one. The quality is 10000 X better. I am buying one from ZAGG today!! Don't let this company rip you off they are just trying to act like it has lifetime replacement free but when you replace it 6 times in 9 months you just paid over $100 from a screen protector (was $60 new)!!! AGAIN STAY AWAY FROM BODYGUARDZ THEY ARE JUST A SCAM AND GO WITH ZAGG THE BEST COMPANY FOR SCREEN PROTECTORS!!!
I paid $40.00 for Bodyguardz Screen protector for my NEW Notebook 8 @ US Cellular. the screen saver CRACKED in 4 places in the first week. No abuse on my part.
Warning, they offer FREE freight on orders. But, want to charge you freight to replace their DEFECTIVE product.
They had the nerve to tell me I could get free freight on my broken screensaver IF, I bought more of their bad products.
I declined their generous offer to charge me to return and get more junk
Upon purchase of my new phone I was informed of this product by the salesperson at the store where I was shopping. The price didn't seem horrible considering the item came with a "free" replacement warranty. After using the screen protector for a few months I had a mishap and dropped the phone out of my lap into the street while getting out of my car. The phone landed face down and the screen protector cracked. I went online and promptly ordered my replacement. When the new screen protector came it included a return shipping label and instructions to mail the damaged item back to the manufacturer. This was for obvious reasons to me (Fraud prevention) and I simply did what the instructions asked. Well now, more than six months later the company has charged my bank account saying my returned item was never delivered to them. Why in the world would they wait over six months to do this? Simply because they count on the average consumer misplacing the shipping receipt and having no recourse. Since this product was being sold at a reputable retail store I took for granted they wouldn't have shady "business" practices, I guess I was wrong. Buyer beware, they will charge you for the replacement even if you've sent them the broken item back. They'll simply say it's your word against theirs.
