Horrible Service Department Experience with Bob Howard Hyundai Oklahoma.
With the unpredictable cost of fuel in 2012 I started shopping for fuel efficient vehicles for my wife and I, the Hyundai appeared to be the logical choice and I bought two new 2012 Hyundai Elantras one for my wife and the other for myself. I enjoyed the buying experience and felt I got a fair deal on both vehicles. On May 19, 2016
I took both vehicles in for routine service and on the way home noticed smoke coming from under my wife’s car and later discovered that the dealership changed the oil ,but failed to replace the drain plug causing me to operate the vehicle for a great distance without internal lubricants, this prompted me to check our second vehicle also a Hyundai Elantra which was also serviced at the dealership when I opened the hood I found the dipstick partly inserted with oil all over the engine and hood.
I contacted the dealership and they apologized for the mishaps, washed the oil from the engine compartment of my vehicle and replaced the oil plug in my wife’s vehicle. Later that day the check engine light came on in my wife’s car and I took it back to the dealership, the service department kept it for an hour or so stated the problem had been repaired. When I picked my wife’s car everything appeared fine, However, after about 30 min of driving the Engine Light came back on.
I return to the dealership and Pointed out that the vehicle had no such prior issues and driving it without oil appears to have caused damage. I then offered a solution seeing that I had just paid the vehicle off and her car is a one owner. Rather than have the dealership repair the damage they caused I offered to trade the vehicle The dealership offered only 2,500 for my wife car. (DON.T BUY FROM THESE UNSAVORY CHARACTERS)
