Different name, same Trump business practices and behaviors. This business used to be called Stock Building Supply and apparently operating under a new name. However, none of this matter because the employees are still suffering from Trumpism. These are miserable Maga Maggots with an abysmal history of discriminatory business practices toward African American builders/sub-contractors.
When I entered the store, I had no idea that I would be treated like a thief and insulted. While browsing around the showroom, I was approached by a female employee who asked to hold my handbag behind the counter. From the moment that I walked in the door, I became a suspect and given the side eye as I walked around. I immediately objected to giving my $2500 designer handbag to a complete stranger. After all, it contained my wallet which held my credit and debit cards. Why would a woman ask another woman such a thing? This was what I asked the employee whose answer was that she thought that I would be more comfortable and that my handbag appeared to be too heavy for me to carry on my shoulder. Wow, really! Since when was my handbag too heavy and why was it her business? It was quite obvious that I was not displaying any signs of distress. The only person distressed was that dumb, underpaid, undereducated Maga Maggot who felt it necessary to disparage me. Then, the minimum wage worker attempted to deflect from her stupidity with a general discussion on handbags. I told the woman that I never part with my handbag because I had paid a lot for it and that my wallet was in it. When the retail worker asked what type of handbag it was, I told her Louis Vuitton. She again tried to disparage me by asking how I knew it was real, as though there was no way that I could afford such an expensive handbag. Given my appearance... Louis Vuitton V Tote, designer boots, Burberry Coat, plus the late model BMW which I drove to the BMC showroom, sure, I must have appeared homeless and penniless to that middle-aged white retail worker. Or, perhaps the woman really believed that I would stuff a set of Pella windows in my handbag and simply wanted to ensure that I did not attempt to rip off the store and jump into my vehicle which was parked in plain view of the showroom. Or, maybe this was just another example of a hateful white person suspicious of a black person doing an everyday thing like shopping for a household product. Yes, I own a home, recently underwent a remodel and was searching for a product that was by the way, too large to stuff in my purse or the trunk of my car.
Needless to say, BMC, Stock Building Supply or whatever they call themselves these days made it clear that African Americans are not welcomed. In fact, black people have never been welcomed there. However, I had no idea that it was Stock Building Supply. No worries, though. I found what I needed less than a mile away from their competitor and was treated like a human, no more, no less.
