Alicia Panetta is operating a web design/ branding “business” under the name Blue Velvet Studios with her “partner” Bethany Mullins.
Alicia was very pushy with us to get the contract signed and payment made as soon as possible. We were under the impression that she/they would deliver complete work as stated in the contract. We made the full contract payment to “This Aquarian Life,” Alicia Panetta, in the amount of $4200 on March 7, 2016.
There are several red flags in their contract. Right away we should have ran and not looked back. We chose to move forward with the project because we were excited to support a women who SEEMED capable of delivering what they promoted.
Half way though the contract, we amended it, making their workload less. Due to the fact that they had nothing finished and only two weeks to complete the project.
We needed the site complete by the contract due date.
The website was created on Squarespace using a free layout. (We had requested Shopify.)
The website did not include drop down tabs. We specifically stated drop down tabs were imperative for the site.
Contract stated they would do a photoshoot. This ended up being a complete disaster. The photoshoot type or protocol was not described in the contract. This was yet another very unclear aspect of their contract. We agreed to let her do a product photoshoot to make it easier on her.
As you can see in the attached photos of the site, the product shots are not professional. She placed the items on old carpet and photographed them.
We never received a monthly growth report as stated in contracted. Delivered a subpar incomplete website.
The site was “delivered” to us unfinished. Links were not working. The presentation of the site looked awful. Needless to say, we had to spend more time and money hiring a capable legitimate company.
Alicia Panetta/ Blue Velvet Studios is not skilled in website design. We felt it necessary to share our experience to prevent others from being scammed; waisting time and money.
