Rip off club. Several attempted contacts to customer service via phone and email - no response. No notification membership expired. Stopped in Clermont location in a pinch as I was short on time. Forced to renew at register for $55. Had no intent on renewal, as prices are not a bargain - those who state they are need to check your receipts.
Attendant working register had no clue what the surcharge was if I did not renew - useless. See attached receipt comparison - 2 pack Wishbone Italian dressing $13.98 - Same exact item in Walmart $3.88 for a single - could buy x4 in Walmart for just $2 more than the BJs 2 pack price. Guess customer service does not respond because they don't like being shown their prices are no bargain and they are a ripoff.
I received a notice that my credit card number had been used in Europe to purchase a trip. My wife told her friend who asked her if she bought gas at BJS in Wallingford. They had been informed that their card had also been used in Europe.
Corporate headquarters was not helpful in straightening out the problem which I had already contacted them once before. I just wanted to know if the problem had been fixed. The man I talked to had a very thick accent and was in a room full of people speaking a foreign language.
I asked him if he was calling from India or the Phillippines. He said no, the United States. I think he was fibbing. He did not know about crooks inserting their own recording devices on gas pumps. I have seen other peculiar things taking place at the gas pumps such as two cars pull up and a guy in one car uses his card two fill his and the other guy's.
I will no longer purchase gas at Bjs. I had to get a new credit card and had to inform other businesses and services that I had a new card. Hello Costo and good riddance to BJS.
Bought 2 computers from BJ's online store on Dec. 23, 2017. A Christmas gift for my wife and a birthday gift for my son. Paid immediately via credit card. Charges appeared on card by the Dec. 26 and BJs shipped the PCs that day with delivery scheduled for the Dec. 27. The PCs were in my town, on the UPS truck on their way to my home when BJs stopped delivery and rerouted the PCs back to their origin, in MA. After 3 separate calls to BJs and after the PCs were in their shipping center I was finally told that they were not going to HONOR the purchase price. But if I want to repurchase the PCs, I could receive a 10% discount on the same item for my trouble. So instead of paying $180 each, I would need to pay $1000 each. And I even bought the extended warrentees. WHAT A RIPOFF!!!
Their may be honor among thieves but not with BJ's wholesale club. I passed on other deals for PCs that day because i saw this deal advertised on the BJs website. I have purchased items from online stores and private websites around the world and they stand by their listed, advertised price....but BJ's lacks that integraty even when dealing with loyal, 30 year customers. And I spent over $500 IN THE BJ's store in EDISON that day in addition to ordering the PCs. When I called BJs Customer Care, I was pushed off to the tech dept. So after getting the run-around, I received the brush-off. So much for their care of a loyal and( apparently not so) valued customer. I am near 60 and have never before encountered this kind of poor, shabby business practices. Would have expected better from them.....don't you be fooled!
