As an rn, she may be relaying the md's recommendations, not her own. I understand that you do not agree with the recommendation she gave you, and as this is your health, you do not have to take the recommendation if the current medication that you are on is not causing you any problems. Optimal female testosterone levels while on testosterone supplementation is 150- 250. Having a testosterone level of 171 two months after insertion is within that optimal range.
