January 15, 2022, my husband and I attended the Kid Rock concert at Billy Bob's of Texas. We are long time patrons of Billy Bobs. 30 mins into the concert a man came from behind us on the right side and began yelling, cussing and then assaulting my husband by punching him in the face. My husband did the right thing by holding this man off and immediately telling Billy Bob's security.
They first asked if we wanted to press charges and could we identify the man - we said yes to both. Then they refused to help. Quinn, head of security, went so far as to tell us if we returned to the area we paid to be in (Premium Tickets) that if another fight with this man broke out - my husband could be considered retaliating. Then told us he would be ok if my husband fought the man outside and then offered us a beer.
The contracted police man refused to help and said it would take too long to get a unit to Billy Bobs. The police man did have time tho to take pictures with girls at the bar. Head of Security, Quinn also told me not to say another word - in a threatening way - when I said "this is ridiculous" when he oferred us free beer to make this all go away.
We missed 3/4 of the concert and ended up unable to go back to the area we paid to be in - we saw the last two songs of the night and had to stand at the back of the general admission. If you have been to Billy Bobs you understand that at this point you are seeing the concert on a monitor.
The following Monday I callled and spoke with the General Manager, Marty Travis. He offerred not apologies, supported his staff in not helping but did agree that Quinn's free beer and take it outside comment was not right. I had not asked for anything but he offerred up free tickets to any concert we wanted to go to - as his guest. I had told him my husband is picky about the venues he goes to and now would not be returning to Billy Bob's.
I declined the tickets and told him if he was willing to do that why not just refund us the amount we were out not being able to watch the concert due to dealing with his security team for hours. He told me that "Kid Rock has that money" and laughed a little when he said it. He has been asked to contact my husband and he has his phone number - confirmed with me that he had it in an email that had been sent previously. He gave me his word he would reach out to my husband or someone from Billy Bob's would. Not one person has contacted my husband. They refused to help when he was assaulted and refuse to talk with him directly.
This is an unsafe place and unfortunately you have to find this out the hard way. WE do not know why this man attacked my husband and Billy Bobs refused to acknowledge it happened or help after our report.
