Big O Tires in South Mountain on Baseline damaged my van's body, denied it (even though pictures prove it), stopped communication, and they are stonewalling me. Prior to this, had my van in FIVE times for same break issue. And, on same visit where they damaged my van, they overfilled the oil.
Took my money, left me with damaged van. Terrible customer service locally and on national level.
December 6, 2019 purchased four new snow tires for $602.00 at Big O Tires In Colorado. Sent in rebate form for a $50 Visa prepaid card and paperwork requested to ACB Inc on 12/17/19. Received a "denied" letter and called to inquire why it was denied and was told missing info regarding payment type (credit card).
Customer service person, Gabbie/Gabby said need more paperwork and so I sent additional and original paperwork in. Just got another "rebate denied" letter and again called and spoke with Gabbie/Gabby who said information was missing. but kept saying "we can't access the credit card company to verify".
They have all the info! Advertising Checking Bureau is a bad ripoff company. And Big O Tires for offering this rebate. Signed me Ticked off at sham companies. Shame on you guys!
After checking out van, I was taken into garage area to show me the problems. The rotor on the right side was discolored from the excessive heat because the caliper that had stuck. They also showed me a wet spot on the frame from that that said was caused from a leaking rack assembly and would cause the van to flunk the safety inspection. They worked up a repair quote of $1,913.13 that encluded; a safety inspection, a rack assembly, 1 brake line, 1 rt. brake caliper, both rotors, a set of brake pads and an alignment. I told them I'd get back with them if I wanted them to make the repair. I was able to get both calipers, both break lines, both rotors, and a set of ceramic break pads installed for $520.00. The mechanic couldn't find any wet spots or anyplace that might have leaked. I had another mechanic check and replace the rack assembly if necessary. He would do the repair for $540.00 plus $80.00 for an alignement. There wasn't any wet spots on the engine, on the rack assembly, or on the frame. They took me out to see they found. They didn't charge for their time and trouble. There are still honest mechanics out there. If I had gave Big O the OK to do the repair, I would been cheated out of $1381.13. I believe Big O went out of their to inflate the needed repairs and charges, knowing what they were doing in order to take advantage of a 74 year old, hoping I would panic and tell them do the repair. SHAME ON YOU.
I brought my 2006 Honda Civic Si in for AC repair on 7-12-17. I explained that I did not want to spent more than about 500 dollars to fix the air conditioner. They kept the car for diagnostics and quoted me $598 to fix the problem. I agreed and picked up the "fixed" car on 7-14-17. I live 1 mile away and took the car home. The next day, 7-15-17, I drove the car for 20 minutes and the air conditioner failed. I returned the car to Big O Tires that day and they kept it for more diagnostics until Monday 7-17-17. On Monday they called and told me it would be another 115 dollars to re-charge the freon. I was upset but had no other options and agreed. I picked up the car again on Tuesday, 7-18-17, and drove it for 10 minutes and the AC stopped working again. I drove it back and dropped off again.
Another 3 days later, the car was still in their possession, and they were telling me I need another part to make it work with another few hundred dollar price tag. At this point I explained that I would like the parts removed, my original parts replaced, and a full refund. They offered me 430 of the total 715 I have already payed, they are removing the parts, and told me they threw my original parts away. The fact that I had to bring my car in 3 times after being "fixed" with them only to advise I spend more money on a completely new problem is incompetent at best, and fraudulent at worst. Now I am out a few hundred dollars AND my car is in worse condition than when I started. Before I picked up my car the last time it was "fixed" they told me that my AC unit would work for at least another year, which 20 minutes later my car was again not working. At this point on 8-1-17, I have called their corporate complaint line 4 times and made a complaint and have yet to receive even 1 phone call back. I have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau and the BBB informed me that the shop is not cooperating and has not answered the complaint.
I went to the Prescott, AZ Big O to get some specialized shocks for my Jeep. I wanted Rancho shocks. The old salesman told me he could get them from Phoenix and it would be tomorrow before they were delivered. It was early afternoon, about 2:00 pm. I told the old guy I would be back tomorrow to buy and have the shocks installed. Just for the heck of it, I stopped at the near by Checker Auto store about a mile from Big O. As I walked in, sitting right on the counter, were 2 Rancho Shocks for a Jeep with the name of Big O Tires on them. I about flipped! Not only were they only down the street and ready to go for an install, the price was very different than what Big O quoted me. Big O told me each shock was $79.99 each. Checker had them for only $52.99 each. I told the clerk these shocks were for me, bought them and left. I had my usual auto guy install them for me and still saved over $25.00 after the install. I called Big O later that day and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Not only did they lie to me about the location and price, they had the nerve to pretend they NEVER EVEN SPOKE WITH ME! Stay away from all the Big O Stores; RIPOFFS!!!!!!
I went to this specific location to have a tire replaced that I got a nail in. Once they were done, I noticed halfway way home that my debit card and another item that I would prefer not to list on here were missing. I returned to the store parking lot and I see the guy that handed me my keys running up the stairs to the storage area. I knew it was him and I yelled, "where you going explicitive". Long story short he lied and lied and even the manager was uncooperative so the cops got involved. The manager was even rude to the cop and made the officer mad. After unsuccessfully searching for my items that were stolen, which he obviously hid, I ended up calling corporate but nothing was done as far as I know. I told corporate it wasn't an issue about being compensated but places like this should not even open ones glove compartment or looking around for things in customers cars. I hope the guy was fired and red flagged because he will continue to do this wherever he works.
If a company & manager can't admit they failed to meet their own standards and holds their own customers in contempt, they are not worth doing business with. I used to be a regular at this Big-O until I had the unfortunate customer experience of dealing with Burt. I had the gall of questioning Burt regarding the price tag on a repair quote but because I was in a bind decided to go ahead with the repair anyway. The next morning, the vehicle's warning lights indicated that they failed to complete the job by replacing the fluids - though they charged me for the fluids and $93/hr for "quality" service. Since it was 5am, I had to find a gas station to purchase & put in the fluids myself. When I called the next week to complain, Burt brushed off my complaint as no big deal and literally said "Is that all you're calling about?" I explained that I was charged for something not received and he told me I had a chip on my shoulder from the first price quote but that he would refund the $10 for fluid. Then he went on to defend the cost & quality of their service and parts. Apparently, errors are acceptable at this Big-O.
