I purchased forty 1200 ampere hour nickel iron batteries from Be Utility Free Inc back in October 2016. The purchase price was$28,000.00. The batteries were manufactured in China. I was told they would last 10 years if properly maintained. They came with a one year warranty. The batteries were installed into our solar electric system in March 2017. Within 3 months they started failing. 4 of the batteries actually had their cases crack open releasing the electrolyte all over the floor. Of the forty batteries purchased 15 of them failed within 4 months. When The first battery failed I immediately reported it to Be Utility Free. As more began to fail I was told that they would be replaced. Soon the manufacturer in China, Seawill Technology, was emailing me for information about the failures. Months went by and no replacements arrived. I called Be Utility Free and asked the owner, John D’Angelo for a refund. He said no and that the replacement batteries had been built and would ship soon. When I confronted the Seawill Technology about the delay they informed me that the batteries had been made months ago and that they were in a warehouse at the shipping dock. They said the batteries would not be shipped out until John D’Angelo (Be Utility Free) had paid some previous invoices owed to them. I have given up on receiving my batteries and am going to sue this a*****e. This guy is a crook and I would advise everyone not to buy anything from him. Not batteries, not solar panels, nothing.
