In May 2015, Ms. Betty Ann Tyson edited a legal letter for $20 for me. I sent the payment through PayPal, and I initially complimented her work. However, when I reviewed her LinkedIn and Cambridge Academic Editors Network, I noticed neither of these profiles indicate that she has experience editing legal texts.
Since English is my third language and I have no experience in this particular field, I decided it would be best to consult with an experienced legal editor.
The legal editor edited the enitre letter again for $7, and explained to me that the person who had originally edited the letter produced work of a poor standard.
In March 2016, I ultimately decided to e-mail Ms. Tyson (1) to inquire whether she would apologize for producing poor quality work, (2) issue a full refund, and (3) to help prevent this from happening to future clients. But I never received a reply. I then telephoned her using the phone number provided on her website, but when I introduced myself and asked her how many years of editing experience she had, the call was disconnected.
Following the call, I immediately sent Ms. Tyson one final e-mail, and stated that I wouldn't publish the review if she took the appropriate action to resolve this matter. Again, I did not receive a reply. I hope that my review helps bring about significant changes within this company.
