When my brother died recently, I ordered from highly recommended Best Price Caskets of Dallas, Texas. I purchased by credit card a Vault and Casket Set, specially ordered to match with a bronze sealing vault, with cross on top, for display at the cemetary and the sealing bronze trimmed casket. The set was guaranteed for delivery prior to the funeral. The vault was a day later than guaranteed and the casket never arrived at all. When I disputed the charges on my credit card, Best Price Caskets continued to re-charge my credit card. I had to purchase a last minute casket from the funeral home which was very expensive and not selected at all. It certainly did not match the vault and the vault display top was not able to be displayed at the service. Please do not use this company!
I don't know if there caskets are any good but I can tell you the company representative (Jerry) grew impatiient becasue I had questions on how to ensure correct delivery to the funeral home, Then he blathered for 5 minutes straight about how I didn't want to miss the funeral with the casket being late.
I told him I had a few questions about different styles and he got down right beliggerent. I asked him why he was being so insulting-- especially considering the circumstnace. His response was to be even more insulting.
Unless you enjoy being treated like a moron in your momnet of grief--Go somehwere else!
We purchased a casket from Best Price Caskets and it arrived at the funeral home damaged and defective. We immediately took photos, contacted the company, sent email correspondence with pictures of the damage. They first blamed the funeral director (Westfield Funeral Chapel, Colby Fulfer) of causing the damage, then they told us we should just fix the damage ourselves. It was supposed to be a sealing casket but, due to the defect, will not seal. In addition, the two lids that close the casket are out of alignment and there are are scratches to the exterior. The funeral home director told us it looked as if they took a non-sealing casket and tried to stick a seal on but did a very poor job. Best Price has refused to arrange to have the defective casket picked up, and so it sits in the funeral home. They have also failed to refund our money. Of course, we were left with no other alternative than to purchase a second casket from another company to replace the Best Price defective one. The business owner, Terry has been verbally abusive to not only my family but to the funeral director's as well. He told the funeral director's mother, Janine, over the phone after she told him she couldn't stay on the phone with him because she had a chemo treatment scheduled, that he "hoped the chemo killed her before the cancer does". Now they are not taking or returning my phone calls- a tactic they've apparently found to be successful when dealing with complaints.
