Best Egg Reviews

Best Egg sent multiple pre-approved offers for months before I finally considered it. I had a credit card that I needed to pay off with a deferred interest payment for a year and thought that this would be quite helpful to take care of it and pay less toward that loan instead of accruing all the interest on the credit card.

When I applied I sent 2 years of tax returns and a letter stating my current employee status and current salary.

When I received a call from Best Egg after filling out the application on line they told me that they could only verify based on the past tax returns and then I was declined. So it didn't matter what my current income was or the fact that all of my other payments are current and have been current according to my credit report.

I was very disappointed since I thought I had found my solution to not have all of the deferred interest added to my credit card but now that is still what is going to happen. I feel that Best Egg should let you know up front that they will only base it on tax returns from previous years and not your current salary.

They sure wasted a lot of postage sending all of those pre-approval letters. But I wasted my time trusting them to come through.

I’m a victim of identity theft and have had a fraudulent personal loan opened in my name with a company by the name of BEST EGG/SST. I have a fraud alert on my credit file, and have sent them my police report, affidavit from the FTC, and sent them information regarding this being a fraudulent account. The address on file that BEST EGG/SST have for this fraudulent account does not belong to me, and I’ve never resided at the address. This company keep trying to validate this account as being a valid account, because this account was opened in my name which in inaccurate. I didn’t consent, authorize, apply, nor request for this fraudulent personal loan to be opened in my name.

I have several documentations showing that this is a fraudulent personal loan, but this company keep trying to validate this account with the credit bureaus as if this is a valid account. The address on file is does not belong to me, the account was not authorized to be open by me, and I’ve been a victim of identity theft over a year. The Atlanta police department deemed this fraudulent account as a fraudulent personal loan, and it is documented with the Atlanta police department that, I’m a victim of identity theft. Per the FTC if an account is reporting inaccurately or if a consumer is a victim of identity theft the account is suppose to be removed off of a consumers credit file.

When a consumer is a victim of identity theft that account that was opened in the consumer name will show that the account is a valid account. Due to the fact the perpetrator who opened up the fraudulent account in the consumers name used the consumers personal information to have the fraudulent account opened. Identity theft has been on the rise for a very long time now, and several consumers are being affected by individuals stealing their personal information using it to open up accounts in the consumers name. I’m a victim of having someone steal my personal information and use it for their personal gain which has lead to this issue, I’m having with this consumer. I’m not going to be liable nor responsible for a fraudulent personal loan being opened in my name as if, I’m the one that applied for this fraudulent account. I’ve contacted legal representation and other sources to have this matter resolved deeming this account as a fraudulent account, and this account need to be deleted/removed off of my credit files asap.

This is not my account, and I shouldn’t have to deal with an issue as such. How is it that this company allows anyone to open up a personal loan in somones name without proper verification? I’m looking at all of these reviews online, and it’s impossible for so many people to put up positive reviews EVERY SINGLE DAY. I’m quite sure their having someone from their company place all of these positive reviews to get individuals to apply for a loan with their company. These reviews I’m quite sure are FAKE, and it’s quite alarming after what have happened to me. I’m quite sure this have happened to a lot of other people, but they are having the reviews removed. There is no company that will keep up with reviews people rate EVERY SINGLE DAY, and reply to them like BEST EGG does daily. That’s how I know this company is a fraud, and allow anyone with personal information to get loans then owe them large amounts later on.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, and how they operate. Your personal information is your life, and if a company allows anyone who get a hold of your personal information to get approved for a loan in your name. Then you know you need to stay FAR AWAY! They have all of the facts, and documentations that show this account is fraudulent, and instead of them doing the right thing to have me not be responsible for this account. They are continuously trying to deem this account as valid, and I’m going to make sure this account is taken out of my name to be won in my favor. This company is a rip off, and fraudulent. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR A LOAN HERE!

You are correct about misleading and allowing consumers to believe, through strategic wording that thier credit score would not be affected..also in their rebutle against the other complainer, they are misleading saying your credit rate wont be affected. When you actually wont know your true credit rate until the do the hard hit. They get 5.99 percent in fees off the top..and your credit rate could be higher than your existing credit card rates as much sd 29.99 percent. I am happy the other person posted the info...I chose to not sign up. All I can say is read the entire paper before signing up.

I was contacted by this company by USPS mail on several occasions stating that I had been pre-approved for a loan up to $40,000 based on my credit history.

After receipt of the fifth or sixth notice by USPS mail that I had been approved for the same $40,000, I tried entering the offer code online, but the website was not cooperating with accepting the code. Therefore, I called the phone number on the letter.

I spoke with a representative who after giving her my Offer code, she stated that "her system was down, but that I could call back and talk to a different representative since not all the rep's systems were down, just hers."

I thought this was strange so I asked her to transfer me to one of her colleagues whose system was up and running, and that way I wouldn't have to call back. An intrasystem transfer is standard for any business operation, especially in light of current/ongoing system operation problems.

THis business smells SCAM and FRAUD all over it. I wish I had read the other Rip Off Reports and BBB reports prior to calling them and inadvertently hurt my credit score.

This company claims "Check your rate online with no impact to your credit score!" What they don't tell you, is that if you are denied the loan, your credit score is indeed impacted in a very negative way.

Then another company (or the same company under a different name) comes along to offer you the money you have just let the financial world know you are looking for, and they offer you outrageous APR's based on your fraudulently deflated credit score.

That's the game. This company needs to be stopped. The AG of Deleware should send them an immediate cease and desist, or the federal agents should step in due to their USPS mail fraud interstate.

Best Egg sends a letter telling you that you are preapproved for a loan and that checking you rate will not affect your credit

score. Thats where this company begins their art of deception. The keyword here is rate. As soon as you click to see if

your eligible for the loan your credit score is affected. You see anyone can look up loan rates and not have their credit

affected. However, the way its presented on the advertising notice it tends to deceive one into believing applying for the

loan will not affect their credit score.

On complaining about this isuue to the customer service representative, he stated that it clearly states that it will affect your

credit score in the multiple paragraphs of tiny words presented in the disclosure statement. I didn't really need the loan.

It

was an advertisement for consolidation which I thought may be a good idea. I was denied the loan because their phone

number was blocked by my phone system as being a spam number.

Now I don't want to start a law suit here or anything. I just want to make other consumers aware that if Best Egg deceives

an individual on just inquiring about their loans I can just imagine what they do once your approved for the loan. In other

words buyers beware! I would recommend avoiding this company.
