Believe Label & Artist Solutions Reviews

  • Feb 27, 2022

I'm not the only one they've done this to on Youtube. I'm dealing with the unbelievable false copyright claim on my own original created content, which is music. I'm in disbelief how insane this whole thing is. I'm an artist and create music tracks using DAW (digital audio workstation) over at Soundtrap, or Soundation, almost three years now. I also created a video to go with my music once I'm finished with the creating the track.

Careful to only use royalty free and creative commons for the video aspect of the tracks. I only create organic original music content. It comes straight out of my creative heart. Soundation and Soundtrap have beats with pro music tools. Extensive collection of beats, loops and instruments, and vocals.

I also pay for the monthly subscription to get access to additional loops. Way over 20,000+ ready-to-mix basslines, drum beats and melodies in the library. For almost three years I've made music videos and uploaded them to my Youtube channel Chrono Channel. I upload my tracks to Soundcloud and Bandcamp as well. Grinding publishing my music slowly building a fan base.

I was hit with a false copyright claim this week, on my content. I almost fell out of my chair, took me a minute to wrap my brain around this lunacy. Only my audio was stolen, uploaded to Youtube. I looked over their false copyright claim and the video, oh yeah no doubt, my content created by me 9 months ago. I created a video with my track and theirs side by side, uploaded to Youtube to show how blantent this. Link and title below.

Believe Music-Devoted Lululunaa - False Youtube copyright claim. https://youtu.be/kmjplcwrnzg

Literally created their Youtube channel Jan 13, 2022, and uploaded my content Jan 17, 2022. It's so obvious what happened here.

Started my music Youtube channel 2018. I created this song called Hollow Spaces April 19, 2021, then uploaded to Youtube like I always do. No problems.

Of course immediately I filed a copyright against them. All content digital these days has an date automatically attached to it the moment it's created. I made my case with dates, facts and proof/evidence this is my content. I have so much proof/evidence to prove what's taken place here. I presented to Youtube and waited.

This is Youtube email back to me, which I'm now appealing it:

Hi Chrono Clarity Lo-fi,

After reviewing your dispute, Believe Music has decided that their copyright claim is still valid.

Video title: Believe Music - Devoted Lululunaa-False Youtube copyright claims. Copyright claim abuse on Youtube.

Copyrighted content: Devoted

Claimed by: Believe Music

Why this can happen

The copyright owner might disagree with your dispute.

The reason you gave for disputing the claim may have been insufficient or invalid.

- The YouTube Team

This company Believe summed up:

Copyright troll is a party (person or company) that enforces copyrights it owns for purposes of making money through strategic litigation,[1] in a manner considered unduly aggressive or opportunistic, sometimes while without producing or licensing the works it owns for paid distribution. Critics object to the activity because they believe it does not encourage the production of creative works, but instead makes money through the inequities and unintended consequences of high statutory damages provisions in copyright laws intended to encourage creation of such works.[2]

Both the term and the concept of a copyright troll began to appear in the mid-2000s. It derives from the pejorative "patent trolls", which are companies that enforce patent rights to earn money from companies that are selling products, without having products of their own for sale.[3] It is distinguished from organizations such as ASCAP, which collect royalties and enforce copyrights of their members.[3]

An acticle where they did the exact same thing to some regulaur Youtuber, he tried to fight it, but Denis Ladegaillerie and his company Believe trolled his Youtube channel. Many more stories out there like ours.

Believe Digital Dirty Trolls

First they falsely claim, in my situation, birdsounds. Then i file a counterclaim, Believe withdrawing the claim. Right after that my YouTube channel gets suspended anyway. This happend three times in a row in exactly the same way. So they admit the content is not theirs, otherwise they wouldn’t withdraw the claim, and then are trolling the s**t out of my channel and get me suspended. You are at least a dubious company if you act like this, or at least their employees.

1. I dispute Believe Music’s claim

2. Believe Music withdraw their claim

3. I got suspended due to some kind of revenge / trolling by Believe Music
