I made an on line purchase of a 5 x 8 bathroom rug. Once a got it, I thought It was cheap and not what I expected at all. I looked in the packaging for instructions or label to send it back and there was no packing slip or anything in the bag, just the rug.
I then went and looked at my receipt to look for instructions on returns, and there was nothing. I looked at their website, and it was very hard to find anything about returns. Under Q&A's, I found "How do I return an item"? The answer was to contact customer service. Once again, it was very hard to find "customer service" on this website. I tried a few different sites and there was only one phone number 718 457 2583 and one name, Elliot Sabbagh.
I called this number and got Elliot. I told him I wanted to return this rug. He asked me what rug it was, and I told him the description from the reciept. He told me that was a cheap rug. I said I wanted to return it. He said there are no returns on that rug. I said it doesnt say anything like that on my reciept. He told me he was telling me now! He also told me I should have read the website first. I told him I wanted to speak to someone else and he told me no one else is there.
Knowing I was going to get nowhere except rudeness and sarcasm from Elliot, who is the owner, I tryed one more time and said I wanted to return this, he told me I cant. I cant remember everything that he said but he was nasty each time he answered me.
I did my own searching, and no where did I find that the website said that there were no refunds on this rug. I tried to call Elliot back that afternoon to tell me where this is stated on his website, but in the two times I tried to call him, I was sent to voice mail.
What a terrible way to do business. I'm sure he does not get many repeat customers. I want to send the rug back, but I'm afraid he will just refuse it and then that will be more postage spent.
I'm not sure but I think he said something else when he answwered the phone. It surely wasnt Bed n Bath Gallery. When I questioned it, he just said hello, and when I asked again if it was Bed n Bath Gallery, he said yes in an annoyed voice. So this was going downhill from step one. He can have his rug, I just want my refund.
