I know for a fact you've never been to the new farm. Now, when I say you I don't mean the person your pretending to be. I mean you. I can promise you horses and pigs alike are being taken care of. Shelter has been provided and horses have blankets (when applicable) Animal control has been to Becki's farm before and they found no violations. I bet you already know this. Just left the property she is being evicted from for zero payment. Emaciated horses and pigs covered in wounds and eaten alive by flies. Caged in filth and dogs in tiny too small crates. I have personally witnessed the arrogant neglect of animals in this person's care. The barn where she has relocated to, in Lisbon , CT has a foul odor of horse manure/urine and cat urine. While visiting, we witnessed three horses standing in stalls filled with manure and urine soaked bedding. These stalls had obviously not been cleaned in several days. The water buckets were either empty or disgustingly dirty with very little water. The hay in the stalls was trampled and mixed in with the manure and urine soaked bedding. We also witnessed one stall where 2 pigs were being confined. The stall had manure and urine soaked bedding also and hay that was mixed in with all of it. The pigs had a small water bucket that was empty. We were in the barn at 11:00 am intending to check out available stall space that had been advertised on Craigslist. We were hoping to be able to speak with the owner of the property, who I understand is not related or affiliated with the Starrs. It was a very windy, rainy day when we were at the barn and there were numerous horses out in the back paddock and in two separate fields. The horses in these areas did not have run in protection from the weather, their blankets, if they had any on, were filthy and soaked.There was one stall in the barn that was cleaned and set up. It was our understanding that this stall was being used by someone not affiliated with the Starr's. Upon noting the barn in such a dirty, disorganized state, we left abruptly, never staying to try and meet the owner to inquire about potential board.
When we got home, we did some research and spoke with several horse people in the area who are familiar with Becki Starr. We soon realized that the barn had been leased by Becki and that all but 2 horses on the property were hers. We were confused by the situation, depressed and saddened for the animals owned by her and obviously neglected. After seeing the condition of the horses, pigs and property we made the decision to pursue a complaint. I never thought that we would ever see something like this in our world. We have seen such situations on reality tv and in the news but were very naive to it happening right in our backyard! I can not just look the other way. These animals deserve better! After researching Becki, her numerous moves and stable names I am getting the picture of what she is all about. She does a very good job of taking pictures of very good looking horses and very clean barns and stalls. Everyone in the pictures seem to be smiling and there are many kudos for her from clients? There are no pictures, however, of the situation she has now set up in Lisbon, on Bayberry Lane. I truly don't understand how her clients don't see the neglect and more importantly how the owner of the property does not see it!
I find her claim to be rescuing these animals, disgusting! If in fact she is rescuing these animals, how does she see it as ok to now leave them in filth and without water or basic protection? I have a question for her clients, students and any professional who has come to her facilities and worked on her horses, farriers, vets, etc....are you blind or just tolerant of this use of animals for all of your benefit? You should all be ashamed of yourselves! The pictures showing this woman kissing her horses, pigs, dogs, etc is not enough, it is not ok....these animals deserve the basic necessities and you people who have surrounded this woman and keep enabling and supporting her are just as much at fault! She even had a Go fund me page set up!!!! WoW!!

Please, feel free to share this. Do not sell (or give) any horses to Becki Starr at Precious Memories Equestrian Center in Ledyard, CT. Do not give to Brian Kononchik or Chad Denton, as they work closely with her. She is a horse flipper. She will buy horses for cheap, keep them for a few days then sell them. She does not have enough stalls per horse, which leave some outside without shelter 24/7. In CT, if a horse is left outside 24/7, it has to have shelter. She has animal neglect charges on her in RI, which is why she's working out of CT now. She is NOT a rescue! I understand she's been telling people she is, but she is NOT. She was working with a rescue but sold the rescues horses (which now rescue is trying to locate them) without their knowledge. She is known to take peoples money for animals (requiring a down payment) then sells the animal from underneath them. Several people have been scammed by this lady. I was paying on a horse and she sold her from under me. Told me shes pay me 350 back out of 957, but never saw anything. Please, please be aware of who you're selling your precious family member to.

Becki Starr is a liar a cheater and an animal abuser. several have witnessed her neglect involving horses and other farm animals. she leaves her animals without water or a clean stall sometimes for days on end. horses are left in filthy stalls or outside in inclement weather without shelter or fresh water. she will sell your horse out from under you when it is under deposit. she will ask you to supply your own hay grain or bedding then use it on her own personal horses . she is oblivious to her actions and is quick to blame her workers for her short comings. she does not pay her bills or her helpers.
many calls have been made to Ledyard Animal Control in Ct and yet she continues to get away with this abuse. please stay away from her!!!!!
