My husband and I contacted beachside recovery for treatment. (syietal was our intake referral) We have 2 types of insurances. Program usually 30-50k per30 days. I wanted to get treatment. They make it sound glorious and amazing. They make promises as well as reassure things will be great and beneficial, yet they're exagorated and lots of dishonesty. Prior to coming to Beachside recovery, my husband( who's Hard of hearing) said they would get an ASL interperter (which they didn't) was told they would allow his service dog to come with him. Last minute they told him he could not bring him with him to treatment. Where later he found out that they had another dog at the detox center and at the house. Last minute had to find dog care for our service dog, as well as carers for our home. Costing us hundreds. Signing up for the program we were promised travel arrangements to and from. (Although later finding out they only cover the way there) intention of treatment to be focusing on treatment individually as well as couples therapy. I was told I'd be attending a female detox as well as female home afterwards. They flew us out to LAX and kept telling us they didn't know which city they were sending each of us to. Two separate drivers taking us to undisclosed location. (They knew, they didn't want to give info out) they dropped me off in Newport Beach. They dropped my husband off in San Juan Capistrano at an all men's house. They dropped me off at a so called "all woman's house" which was full of men. Monday morning waking up to a man opening my door and saying "Mmm, Good morning sexy beautiful, Mmm id like to F* you" I was so scared, I didn't know what to do. I said, I'm married and then barricaded the door with stuff. I was scared to mention to the staff that morning because of fear he would hurt me, (I'm a victim of rape & kidnapping) he would sit outside my door rapping and using terms like "mm, white p*" people there heard him talk about how he wanted to lick and suck my feet, and they laughed about it. Where a day later I finally mentioned it to the staff and was like "eww he's got mental issues." As the first day was really tough and they would not allow me to call my mother or my daughter for 48 hours. Which they Mis informed me about phone situation prior to coming in. As they take away all of your possessions and choose what they give you. (Your phone is surrendered) 65 hours later I was able to make my first call and my mother had informed me that she was trying to reach me and no one was informing me. They only allow 10 minutes call. The staff never informed me on phone calls nor informed me on protocol. They mainly sat around smoking cigarettes all day and texting or talking on their phones. Dealing with sexual harassment at the house, females began to check in so I was no longer the only female. And they too were getting harassed sexually by the same guy. I asked the therapist when I could leave and they said they don't know. I find out making my second call that my husband was kicked out of the program, that he was told he wasn't an alcoholic. (My husband who has documentation from a pschycologist says he is) He tells me that the place has been unprofessional they claim they serve healthy food but was providing Mac n cheese and hot dogs and chicken nuggets. I ask the place about leaving they said I can not, and if I choose to they will drop me off on PCH, (without any of my money without my phone as they hold all that in there locked room) I was told if I do leave won't get my things for 24 hours. They (detox center) advised me to wait till 7th that way they would get paid by insurance. But they said it could be longer like 7-14 days.stating everyone's different dates. I was like no, I voluntarily signed up for this and I would like to be transferred to next portion of the phase. (At this point it's the 5th day) Meaning sober living, which is 30 days. They were suppose to take me to beachside they ended up coming out and saying "you have 30 minutes to get your things together, there picking you up." They picked me up took me to SoberTec, upon arrival I was told I cannot touch any of my belongs after being dropped off at the Industrial style building. Some staff member pushed me as I was walking by her and her shoulder/arm roughly shoved me. I was like "I'm sorry," she was like "Barbie b*" I was a little scared. Going upstairs talking to intake. I let them know I wasn't sure about this facility. Asking to use there phone to contact my husband. I notice a guy whos the director (who's hard of hearing Nick, he's really nice.) Made me interested in considering the facility. He tells me I can wait through the weekend and come back Monday. My husband comes to the facility and They gave me my possessions except the detox center in Newport did not give my computer/charger/extensions. Long story short Monday afternoon we show up at SoberTec after spending money on hotels and rental cars. Being sick with bronchitis. I get referred to Nancy who was rude and hurtful over the phone, yelling at me and saying "you should be so lucky to be here, you disrespect us by not staying here and leaving, you're disrespectful b* we don't want you here, nor your husband, and don't bother getting help here I don't care" I was so hurt by her statements. At this point I'm extremely hurt by how I've been treated and the lack of response on affinity Newport detox who held my computer almost a week and kept promising to return to me. My intake Syieta kept ignoring my calls, and I kept getting the run around. I manage to drive to Newport get in touch with One of the detoxs partners and I was able to get my PC after waiting 6 days. Finally spoke to Beachside informing them on everything Whitney was extremely fake over the phone, and when I asked for someone higher up she got loud and rude over the phone. Never said hold on, and I get transferred to James at Beachside, and he was robotically fake, no empathy nor consideration about everything that occurred. His reply was well thanks for telling me. But nothing I can do to help out. This company is comitting insurance fraud on people who enter there facilities. They get all your information as well as social security and they lie to the people making them believe they care and want to help, but I guarantee if you contact them after or during the time they will get defensive/unproffesional.
I attended this facility on some of the treatments they said they offered on their website. Which were Nexalin treatment, Vivotrol shot, and dual diagnosis. None of these services were offered to me when I was in treatment. I asked about the Nexalin treatment at least 10 times. Then finally told me they do not even offer it anymore. I never met a psychiatrist or psychologist for dual diagnosis. I went 2 weeks without even seeing my case manager. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
