This company did not inform me that they were not in my insurance network even though I called them to ask them to check my benefits ahead of time. They informed me that my share would be under $100 for the sleep study, and again never mentioned being out of network.
I was told the test runs around $4,000, but they billed my insurance $7,200. I called to complain when my EoB showed my share would be over $2,000. They assured me that I wouldn't have to pay any more, which I didn't.
They kept calling me to pick up my cpap machine before the end of the year since I had already met my deductible. They made it sound like they were trying to help me, but then I saw they charged my insurance over $11,000 for a $1,000 machine.
Since I had met my deductible, they were able to send the claim in for any amount they wanted. In fact, their business office rep told me "we could've charged a million dollars, if we wanted to".
Now I don't even know if I actually have sleep apnea!!!
In my opinion, they are unethical and untrustworthy. Then, as if almost doubling the sleep test cost AND over-charging for the machine weren't enough, they even added a separate $40 charge for a filter for that $11,000 machine!!
