David is a convicted felon himself stalking the dating sites under a presumed name. He chooses women he sees as vulnerable. Google his name see where it lands you.
Once he gains their confidence he tells them of his true name and past.

Next lets touch on the topic of where "Tony" comes from, he states Cormack but yet he refers to Barbara as hanging out in bars "here in Patchogue" which is telling itself. Does he himself live near Patchogue? Here in Cormack would make more sense.
I didn't realize that a woman going out for happy hour was illegal and illicit.
