Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews

I am writing to let you know about the horrible treatment I have been receiving from Banfield customer service department. I have been working on an issue for over 4 months and all I am being told is lies. Banfield are taking money from 2 accounts of mine but for some reason, they can only find one payment. I have sent bank statements from Wells Fargo and Discover showing where these are being draftedand my banks have called but I am still being told that there's nothing that can be done. As of yesterday, when I called and asked to have my call escalated, they told me no. That's unacceptable. I worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a customer service manager and I would have never of stood for on of my reps to treat anyone like that. I have since retired and am on a fixed income, so taking extra money out of my account is not right. I you guys have taken about an extra $250 away from me and all I am being told by you is "Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it.: It's amazing how Banfield can find the accounts when the banks fraud department contacts them but when I call they can only find one account with one payment

I received a quote from Bansfield to get my dogs teeth cleaned. I was told he needed one shot beforehand. I asked if that is all that was required, and they said yes. I took him there for shot. Days later, I get call that my dog will need more Shots before teeth can be cleaned. This was total deception. These people are not interested in your pet. All they care about is more money AND SCHEMES BY WHICH THEY CAN TAKE MORE MONEY FROM YOU AND YOUR PET

We lost our little dog last night. What was presented as good for him, the vet said he needed several extractions and had infection, for which she prescribed antibiotic, turned out to be a nightmare. I took him in the morning for a dental cleaning. Is this something new? I wouldn’t be a good pet owner if I didn’t take him right? Wrong. Toby weighed 9 lbs, he was nine years old.

No discussion with doctor on the day of the procedure to tell me of potential risks of being anesthesized. He came out of it, but developed rapid breathing and wheezing. His heart stopped. He was revived. He was operated on. His heart stopped 3 or 4 times total, but then the ER vet physicians felt he was brain dead. The little guy was my responsibility, and I took him to his death. For clean teeth.

The Vet, a compassionate person, and I had a long talk today and she asked me what I wanted. I said that I would have liked to have been told the risks...that my dog might die. She said, yes that she agrees and that she’ll address that. But then she said I do 5-6 of these a day with no problems, I’ve probably done 200 since the last dog died.” Okay, give me that info up front, let me choose whether I want to play Russian roulette with my dog.

i had a plan for my cat and one day he needed help.

i went to banfiled and wanted to just get some chest rads to see whats was up but instead lazy a*s Dr was on lunch so sent me to ER. I spent like 2500 ther eto be sent home with my dying cat i then had to go into banfiled the next day to put down.

They also charged me.

Er said couyld have been saved if Dr had acted earlier but no.

I noticed when i was there an IV setup backwards? like how bad to you have to be to do that? It is because they hire right out of school Drs and techs, no clue or empathy just want money for there corprate masters.

Avoid this ripoff place and if you do not beleive me just look at the reviews

On July 3, 2019, I took my 7-year old cat to Banfield vet for a yearly exam in Boise, ID and no concerns were noted. We moved to the Charlotte area and within a few days, My cat had been exposed to a new environment, Pest control spayed inside the home and had come in contact with Hydrangea flowers.

My cat had mild dyspnea and I took him to Banfield in Harrisburg on August 20, 2019. He was seen by Dr. Bob Strong. He checked all his vitals which were normal and recommended several tests. My thoughts were that a bunch of tests might be a bit excessive given no other symptoms were present. We agreed on the treatment of a steroid shot and antibiotics.

On September 7, 2019, I dropped off my cat at Banfield because of an eye infection. I received a call and was informed that Bob Strong wanted to test for corneal ulcer which was $50.00. My cat did not hit his eye and declined to be charged for this.

Bob Strong did note on my cat's records that he could have pink eye. I agree with this diagnoses and my cat was infected at this Banfield location because he's an indoor cat and no other cats are in the home. Bob Strong also stated that my cat had a heart murmur grade 4-6 and Pro-BNP test should be done immediately.

I went to the Banfield to pick up my cat and spoke with Bob Strong. He claimed that my cat left value had collapsed and blood was backwashing. I knew what he was describing was mitral valve dysplasia and he confirmed this when I asked. He said this very serious matter and he had a referral to a cardiologist.

He wanted me to make an appointment before the test results came back. He also stated that my cat should not have any surgery but went on to say that out of the five dogs that he recently operated on, the only one who came out of anesthesia easily had a murmur. This did not sit well with me since I was taking my dog in the following Monday for a dental cleaning. I also inquired about my cat's eye. Bob Strong snapped at me and said: "you didn't want the test so I don't know."

I was informed that the Pro-BNP test would take 2 days. On September 10, 2019, I called for the test results and spoke with E. Whitmore, She informed me that the test was still pending and Dr. Bob Strong would call me. I requested that the test results be sent to my email. She said: " you will not understand the test results and Dr. Strong needs to explain the results to you." I reminded her that I paid for this test and I wanted the test results regardless. On September 11, 2019, Bob Strong called and said: "test results are normal, you've got a healthy cat."

On September 18, 2019, I spoke with Stephanie, the office manager. I expressed my disgust with Dr. Bob Strong for his unprofessional behavior and the fact that my family suffered great emotional turmoil over his misdiagnosis. She did seem sympathetic and apologized for his behavior.

On October 8, 2019. I took my cat to another vet. She examined my cat and did hear the presence of a murmur, a grade 2-3. The fact that he had a negative pro-BNP and the murmur is more than likely a side effect from the steroid, she wasn't concerned. She wants to see him again in a year. It is apparent to me that Banfield relies on up-selling to make a profit.

I'm usually very cautious about bogus charges but I disregarded my common sense when I was lead to believe by Dr. Bob Strong that my cat's life was in danger. I would not recommend Banfield to any pet parent.

We aquired a new dog at the end of March. After taking her to a local vaccine clinic to get initially set up, we began looking for "actual" vets for her regular care, when we came across the Banfield pet hospital's puppy wellness plan online.

Seemed like a great deal! Included in the plan ( which you make monthly payments for) was two physicals annually, vaccinations, a health panel, diagnostic testing, 3 fecal exams, 4 de-wormings, spay or neuter, and unlimited office visits. I also paid an additional $6 something a month to include heartworm medication in our individual plan.

Initial startup cost was $90, followed by $60/month for a year. Even though we live over 30 miles away, i felt the value was worth the distance.

I set my first appointment- 60+ miles round trip. shared my dog's background. I am the 3rd owner, and the poor girl is just now 7 months old. She had never previously been vetted and was TERRIFIED, and the use of a muzzle was needed. I was instructed to bring in a fecal sample, which i did, however an internal fecal exam was done. Wormer was given just in case. THe majority of the appointment was just tryng to get the muzzle on her and sticking a tube up her butt.

THe second appointment I took my dog to was for booster shots. 60+ mile round trip. She was so upset when we entered the room, the muzzle was once again given to me to place on her. Even though she's just 6 months, she's close to 75 lbs. IMagine putting a muzzle on a very terrified 75 lb animal who doesn't want it on. I was sent home with a prescription for acemeprozone for anti anxiety ( paid for seperately) and instructions to come back several weeks later for her spay, at which time they'd do her blood work and boosters while she was under.

I show up for the spay appointment ( another 60+ miles round trip), dog medicated as directed. Ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for the doctor to get there. And again they won't see my dog, again they throw a muzzle at me and expect me to get it on her, while she's panicked and terrified, in the exam room. It was only at this THIRD APPOINTMENT that the suggestion of getting a basket muzzle and getting her used to it was brought up to me. Maybe that would have been beneficial information to share earlier?

After unsuccessful visit #3 to get vet care, I decided i wasn't messing with that office anymore. I called another local banfield to get her in for a "happy puppy" visit ( a visit in which staff just loves on her, gives her treats and we go on our way with no stress/exam/pain) and the soonest they could get her in was 10 days from the date I called EVEN THOUGH NO VET SERVICES WERE REQUESTED AT THAT TIME- Purely a social visit. It will then have been close to 2 months with no adequate care for my animal, so I decided to seek vet care outside of the Banfield system.

We have since gone to a highly reccomended local vet and I am pleased to report my animal did well and we have a very solid plan to treat her while gaining her trust.

My dog is well behaved in public, and meets new people generally well. She participates in organized training courses with other dogs and gets along just fine. She's simply unsure and terrified of the vet.

After speaking with my "dog people" friends about the fiasco, it came to my attention that it's highly unusual for a vet office to turn an animal away- many that worked in vet offices expressed it wasn't at all uncommon to have an animal that was scared and aggressive at the vet, and since they were PROFESSIONALS, they knew how to handle animals in situations like that.

I personally feel Banfield was stringing me along, and pushing my animal aside. The entire demeanor at the office was rushed, impersonal, and unprofessional ( I wouldn't call it professional if a vet office doesn't know how to handle scared dogs) My animal recieved minimal vet care, yet I was still required to pay the full wellness plan price. My dog is a great dog who - through no fault of her own- is unsure and scared. It's not her fault people impulsively purchase or adopt dogs then get rid of them when the novelty wears off.

On top of the plan with our new vet and group training, we have scheduled an individual training session to address the vet issue.

Banfield's response to this whole mess ( BBB response) was "you owe us $450. FOR WHAT? FOr a tube being shoved up my dog's butt? because I was literally right there in the room and that was the only type of procedure any banfield vet preformed on my dog.

A place of business- a place that specializes in the care of animals shouldn't never respond with " we can't care for her- come back later" AND STILL CHARGE ME FOR THAT VET VISIT!

I should NOT be expected to complete contractual payments when vet care was routinely denied ( to be exact, 66.66666% of the times we have sought scheduled care we were denied) The contract works both ways. I am supposed to pay, services are supposed to be provided. If services weren't provided, no charges should take place.

I requested termination of our plan via banfield corporate. I have not heard back from them. The simple fact that banfield wants me to pay for vet visits in which my animal was never even seen and services that weren't fully preformed is enough for me to raise complaint with any and all appropriate entities.

I have had pet insurance through Banfield pet hospital (located in Pet Smart Stores) 2 years on Nov 19, 2017. I have it automatically billed to my charge card the 19th of every month. I took my dog in for her 6 month ck up per their request on 12/8/17. The bill always shows what the retail price would be if you didn't have insurance and what it is for you. It is usually free for the 6 month exam and immunizations but I had a additional thyroid test done this last time and paid for that at the time. I decided that I should cancel this insurance as I have had to take her to another veterinary hospital as the staff turnover at Banfield is frequent and there was always a new vet. When I called to cancel, I was informed that I would have to pay the difference that I would have had to pay if I hadn't had insurance! My only choice was to continue paying until the amount was paid in the monthly fees or pay the $175.00 difference now in order to cancel.

I looked on the original contract and it states: IF A MEMBER CANCELS FOR ANY REASON (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DEATH OR LOSS OF PET OR TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP), WHETHER BEFORE OR AFTER PROVIDER HAS RENDERED SERVICES, PROVIDER SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RETAIN THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP FEE PROVIDER SHALL ALSO BE ENTITLED TO RETAIN OR RECOVER FROM MEMBER ALL MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS THAT THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN PAID, OR BECOME DUE. INCLUDING THE INSTALLMENT FOR THE MONTH IN WHICH CANCELLATION OCCURS, REGARDLESS OF THE REQUEST DATE. IN ADDITION, UPON CANCELLATION PRIOR TO THE END OF THE PLAN YEAR, IF THE TOTAL UNDISCOUNTED RETAIL VALUE PLAN SERVICES/PRODUCTS ALREADY PROVIDED DURING THE PLAN YEAR EXCEEDS THE SUM OF MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS COLLECTED FOR THAT PLAN YEAR, MEMBER SHALL BE OBLIGATED TO DO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: A. Immediately pay FULL RETAIL FEES for all services or products provided (with all discounts reversed as if the plan had not been in effect for the plan year) to the extent such fees exceed the total of monthly payments received by provider for the plan year or B. Immediately pay the total remaining plan year monthly installments in full if less than the amount described in paragraph (a) or C. Continue making the monthly payments as they become due foar the remaining term of the plan year then in effect. This information is on page 3 of a 4 page contract. One would not think you have to be an attorney and read all the fine print just to get pet insurance. Is this not the same as myself carrying hospitalization, becoming hospitalized and then an month later cancelling my insurance and being told that because I chose to cancel, I will have to pay the hospital bill as if I had no insurance when hospitalized ???

Our 8 month old Rottweiler went in to get fixed on a Saturday. We took her in around 730 am and picked her up around 3. It was the usual vet and we like him quite a bit. Both of our dogs are on their wellness plan and we take them in quite a bit to the vet and to buy food, toys, etc. She seemed to do great and was in a little pain but that's to be expected. 3 days later I saw what looked like rash so we took her in and was told it was razor burn from shaving her. Scabs on her nipples and all. She developed a nasty cough a couple days later and called my neighbor (a vet of 30 years) and he said it was most likely kennel cough. I called Banfield and was told they couldn't see her for 3 days but that it was not kennel cough because she was vaccinated. Again on Monday we called to speak with the manager and were told they didn't have time unless we wanted to drop her off and they could check her out at some point. Drop the dog off at the place where she got the cough while she is this sick... he also said that his vet was right and it wasn't kennel cough. Keep in mind that the vaccine only protects from 3 strains out of hundreds.

So we took her to my neighbors clinic where she was diagnosed with kennel cough and given some medication to start getting better. We were very worried as she is our baby and was so so sick for days. All while pet smart refused to admit she may have kennel cough, to see her, or get her some medicine. I'm not sure why I pay so much each month to pet smart for our dogs' health plans. Our usual vet and receptionist there have been so wonderful but the manager and the other doctors have left a bad taste in our mouths. The vet cost us $150 and pet smart refuses to do anything or to look into the fact that there is kennel cough going through their facility. If they would have just admitted it and tried to help our girl I would have been more than understanding.

I just wanted my dog taken care of that's it. But it has been such a run around to get our girl better... I hope that banfield decides to do the right thing and I hope no one else has to go thru the same thing. They should have taken care of us for the amount of money we pay each month. I shouldn't have to pay another vet to take care of my dogs while I pay them every month. They need to reimburse us for the vet bill and clean up their clinic so that no one else has to deal with this. She went in to get fixed and came out with razor burn, scabs, and kennel cough. It was a terrible experience all in all and we are extremely disappointed. She is laying on my lap right now at 90 lbs struggling to move and breath. She is my best friend and I hope pet smart doesn't cause this for anyone else. Hopefully she will be just fine soon...

My older dog had a era infection two years ago. Banfield recommended a specialist , saw the specialist and $1100.00 later was told dog needed a operation on his ears costing well over $6000.00 just to start. Took my dog to a private animal hospital and with 6 laser treatments ($240) my dogs ears are just fine. Remember who I am complaining about Banfield Pet Hospital. Dog needed a XRay, fine its included in plan, problem they need a specialist to read it ($90). Today the final straw dog has a special need plan, their web site says no need to delay but was told need to have a appointment. Calling their corporate office was a waste of time. Pay the extra money take your pets to a real animal hospital. Banfield Pet Hospital is nothing more than a Jiffy Lube that does your preventive maintence and your car.

In 2015 I signed up for insurance for my pet who later died. When I called the Banfield to inform them of my pet dieing they simply said I had to continue to pay even though I obviously didnt need the insurance any longer. I even asked if they could transfer the insurnace to my other pet but they said no.

They are a ripoff. Dont use this company. There are hundrens of other vets that offer insurance without a contract..

Cancelled pet insurance plan. due to coverage did not meet needs. continuously billed high rates each visit . Seem to always find something that was not covered. Been billed repeatedly regardless of cancellation. How do we get this resolved? Not paying 600.00 more dollars when had to pay thousands out of pocket with the insurance. Seems Like a Rip Off!

Our dog was poorly diagnosed and treated when it was noted that his liver enzyme levels were climbing. Instead of a strong recommendation for aggressive treatment, no especial concern was expressed and a non-urgent drug treatment was suggested. The result within little more than a month was a sudden diagnosis of late stage liver cancer and death from intense bleeding of the tumor that was beyond control. It is clear in retrospect that in January, the poor dog was dying; what is a shame is that he was misdiagnosed, with no sense of urgency and died earlier than if he had been more knowledgeably and capably treated.

We had guardianship of Rufus, a pure bred Shihtzu male who was 12 years 7 months old when we took him to a regularly scheduled check-up on behalf of his owner in September 2016. We noted a drop in his weight from 15 pounds, 8 ounces to 13 pounds. Other than that and an elevation in the dog’s liver enzyme levels that the vet described as slight, the dog appeared in satisfactory health.

We took Rufus back to Banfield in December for what we thought was a problem, a bad limp. The limp turned out either not to have been a problem or it simply resolved itself. It was either then or during follow-up in January that we had another round of blood sampling done. We concluded his liver enzyme expression was clearly going in the wrong direction. The dog’s veterinarian, Dr. Nicoline Lee, suggested three possibilities of treatment and diagnosis: An ultrasound to image his liver; a different type of scanning whereby Rufus would be fed a special meal and then scanned to track his digestion and absorption; and a treatment of Demarin that in Dr. Lee’s opinion had a good chance of lowering the lever levels to normal. We briefly discussed all three but we concluded from discussion with Dr. Lee that the dog was in no imminent danger, and that the Demarin treatment was a reasonable course of action. We also discussed reviewing his liver enzyme levels in 60 days to evaluate his progress.

Dr. Lee, who is described on the Banfield San Mateo Webs site as a cat specialist, commented that her experience in veterinary school was that Demarin was a good treatment option for the type of condition we faced. We asked Dr. Lee if Demarin could reduce the elevation of his liver enzymes and the Veterinarian gave her opinion that it was a reasonable treatment option.

Two thirds of the time through February, we decided we did not want to wait any longer. The result of this February examination was that his liver enzyme levels had reduced slightly but were still high. This time we asked more specifically as to what was meant by high. How high were Rufus’s Liver figures and what was the standard for a conclusion of healthy? Dr. Lee responded specifically when we pressed that his readings were in the 700s where as normal would be a reading under 100. We were shocked to learn of this huge difference between normal readings and wondering why there we were not told of this huge discrepancy earlier. If we had not asked, we would not have been told; and the dog likely would have died suddenly at our home. An ultrasound exam (previously listed as a possible step but not stressed in January in preference for the treatment of Demarin) was ordered up and found that the dog had a large mass on his liver.

We also discovered a build-up of fluid in the dog’s abdomen. A follow-up with a veterinary oncologist followed as quickly as possible. The oncologist took the dog in for additional scanning and diagnosis. Immediately upon beginning the exam, the Oncologist found that the fluid build-up was blood from the tumor on his liver. Efforts to stop or restrain the bleeding failed and the dog died within a short time of arriving at the oncologist’s office.

Cancer, when diagnosed, moves quickly in small dogs. It is not the finding of cancer but the casual attitude and treatment recommended when in retrospect the signs of cancer were there, and there was a lack of aggressive treatment as a result.

We cannot bring our beloved dog back. We are filing this complaint to prevent other dogs from the casual, complacent diagnosis and lack of aggressive treatment that killed our dog when with proper care, he could have had some time with us before the disease killed him.

I have been with banfield in newnan, georgia for five years and they were terrific. But here in daytona it is another story. The doctors there are not as nice as in georgia were. They do not send notices or call for apointment. They set one apointment but when we arrived they said it was fir day before which was not true as I had marked on calender, so we waited to see if they could work us in, and they could not. No one is willing to stay a bit later to acomodate Thier mistake. So I had to call to check for today's apointment. My daughter already cancelled her membership with them. They just do not have caring people or doctors there. I might just cancel also and just take that money and put in an account to see my vet I had before moving to georgia.

  • Nov 17, 2016

I was also scammed by this company. They offered a Wellness plan when I got my puppy and I got on the plan. When we moved, I called them and cancelled the plan as there was not Banfield near me. 9 months later, today, I find that they sent the account to a collection agency and said I owe the balance even though they never provided any of the services in the plan that we had agreed to. They offered to settle for $100 less than what the total bill is and now its on my credit bureau. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

My dog Shadow had an serious injury to her leg last evening 11-07-2016. It needed cleaning, a stitch or two and a bandage, possibly some antibiotics. I took her to the Banfield Pet Hospital Winter Garden Fl location at 6:30 PM where I pay $40.00 per month per dog, I have 3 dogs on the plan. $120.00 per mos. They did not even want to look at her and told me to take her to a pet hospital across town that was closing at 7 PM making it impossible to do so.

After I insisted they at least look at her considering I pay them to do exactly that they finally did. The Vet told me they were getting ready to close and could not help and that they could not see her today because they had appointments all day. I had to take her home and clean and close her wounds myself to stop the bleeding.

Considering the name Banfield Pet Hospital leads me to believe it's a hospital for pets, why am I turned away? I pay for three dogs a month and when I desperately need the service I am told to go elsewhere because they are closing and too busy to help an injured animal. What kind of Doctor does something like that? What is pet insurance for if they won't help an injured pet when needed.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS INSURANCE SCAM PEOPLE. Banfield Pet Hospital is a fraud and does not care about animals at all. It's all about the money.

One of the worst pet vet hospitals around. The customer service is awful. The ladies at the front desk are rude and nasty. The doctors are lousy and not friendly the prices are high. The management sticks. The doctors do not even care about the animals. If you love your pet, do NOT take them to the Banfield pet hospital in fairless hills, pa. Banfield pet hospital in fairless hills, pa is absolutely and utterly one of the worst vet pet hospitals I have even seen. They treat the pets awful. The employees at Banfield pet hospital in fairless hills, pa are unfriendly, rude and nasty.

I took my dog stella to the vet due to her ingesting a piece of

plastic from a flosser she gotten a hold of! So they kept Stella

for 4 or 5 hours and they said only 2 hours and did x-rays and

blood work an thorough check up and injected her with fluids!

I Than went to pick up Stella and to my dismay they would not

work with us on a payment plan and instead they wanted 8 or

900 dollars up front they said they like to take care of all there

tickets and paid in full before the day is over with! I told them

well I don't have that kind of money and I'm on a fixed

income and I can make 10 dollars a month payment

arrangements starting on the 1st when I get paid they

wouldn't accept it and tried to hold my dog to get there

payment and I got upset and said a few choice words and

they gave her back and I said some other few choice words

and walked out! Terrible Terrible place for pet care they only care about money not your pet!

Upon gettin a puppy I chose Banfield Vet Clinic to treat my dog (Boxer) with his series of puppy shots until he reached a year old, atleast that was the plan. We took my dog for his first visit and was told that they did not have an appt time where he could see the Vet but we could drop him off and be picked up later on that day. I thought that was a little strange and not very smart on the vets part thinking they would want to meet with us and answer any questions we as new puppy parents may have, but I did it anyway. I was told they would give the first set of shots, test for worms (including heart), which at this point he was 10 weeks and obviously too young, and de worm him if necessary. Well I agreed to this thinking I work 2 jobs this might be what I need and would be less time consuming and lets give it a try. So, the young nice girl at the counter proceeded to explain to me the Wellness Insurance they have.

And she stated. Its 35.95 a month for 12 mos. You can cancel at anytime at not cost or you can continue. after 6 mos yor spay neuter will be paid for and your puppy shots all series will be covered at a discounted rate. I said ok sounds good. Now, remember plan on having my dog a year.

Ok, 6 mos goes by dog gets all his shots, 7th month someone steals him out of my back yard. I call Wellness Plan they say "What you cant cancel" If you cancel, you will have to pay the difference of the services you have had at discounted rates.

I say ok thats fair. What do I owe you? She says $600, I asked why so high, she said $41 everytime for the offc visit, $39 for fecal test withdraw every visit, $30 for fecal test and so on for worming and shots and so forth. The bill w/o discount she said would have cost me $172.49 for 4 visits.

I asked why do you price gouge so much for your shots and procedures she stated "We use Human Grade" medicines. I dont know about you but I dont get vaccinated for rabies or lepto or lyme or dtp or a regular basis. So I believe there is not such animal. Oh, and I work in an ER and I know there is not. So thats a lie.

Neeless to say they are continuing to take our $35.95 a month for 9 more months so they dont screw up my credit. And if thats not a rip off I dont know what is.

The person at the desk did not offer me a contract to read after I signed (my bad for trusting her) and if I think real hard about it I dont think I got one at all.

I am seriously looking into getting a lawyer on this one because it is against the law to charge for services no longer being rendered.

Moral to this story......Dont go to Banfield Vet Clinic..... Dont sign up for Wellness Plan.

My best friend Bruce a pittbull of 10 and 1/2 years of age that I had the honor to raise ever since he was 6 weeks old, was enrolled in the so called wellness plan from day 1. He passed on june 8,2016 after agonaizing pain from cancer he had been seen at the locations from day 1 and I had express my concern to every doctor at that location and staff about the decline in Bruce's health in the last few months and it was always dismissed as atrithis, he was actually diagnosed with osteoarthritis and after 11 visits between Jan. and june 2016 still insisting that he just had arthritis we pushed to get a referral to vca a specialty clinic and after the mri was performed it was sooo clear that it was cancer and it covered most of his spine ribs joints elbows lymphnodes ect..............

I cant immagine the pain he went through especially since the only pain medicine he was prescribe from Banfield was rimadyl !!!!!! and when I asked to speak to the doctor who had seen Bruce at Banfield rigth before his final days I was told ......whats up i've alredy talk to you dont have anything also to say ............ so what is this wellness plan for ???????????? I faithfully paid for 10 and 1/2 years just to find out at the end that half of tests were not even done 1 blood test that is supposed to be perform once a year would have detected the cancer long ago....

Im very angry at the fact that I trusted them and the price that I paid beside the $ was my best friend life. the arrogance and rudness and negligence of this clinic has cost me a lot of tears and heartaches and it makes me wonder about my other friends enlisted in their care and all have passed.....I dont know if I can name specific doctors but if I can I definitely love to add names.and also as the cherry on top they want me to pay for the remainder of the plan ............dec. 2016 are they crazy or what???? they kill my best friend and Im supposed compensating them .................dont thinks so I've learned my lesson at a very high price.

I joined Banfield Pet hospital 7/28/15 for a wellness plan for my pet. I was told all the great things about the wellness plan. I was convinced, this could save me money.

What they fail to tell people is that if your pet dies, you are still responsible for the contract. It is stated in the contract that you can cancel but there are many contingencies. It never states in the contract that you are still responsible for the contract until the end of your year. I also have heard from others that we are never told when the contract ends when your year is up. They just automatically charge you.

I would propose to Banfield is sharing all of the wonderful things about the plan, you should also be told about the negative things about the plan.

I feel they are ripping off people especially the elders, like me that are on a fixed income! I think when an employee signs someone up for the wellness plan, they get a bonus.

Banfileds so called Wellness plan is for well animals only and what do they actually do?? 10 days after what Banfield refers to as a "COMPREHENSIVE Well Being Checkup"My beautiful Cat had a stroke. I called Banfield and was told to come right in, I live almost across the stree so i was there in 6 minutes> After waiting for over an hour with both my cat and me sitting there crying (while the vet was busy clipping a dogs toe nails)

I drove 35 minutes to another pet hospital. The bill (which i happly paid was over $2000.00!!

Banfiiled now has been attempting to extort an additional 170.06 from me for the remainder of their so called Wellness Plan. WHEN THE HEAVENS AND EARTHS FREEZE OVER!!

Ban Banfield unless your pet is healthy and you belive will always stay that way do not bring to Banfield.

I was contacted by Customer Relations after a lenghty letter i sent detailing the abuse of this hospital only to be connected to the billing dept again....

What you think you are saving on a Banfield wellness plan is not worth risking your pets life for....Just say no to Banfield.

I have been on the Wellness plan at Banfield for over 5 years with my 2 dogs. I had been happy until they lost their 2 vets Dr. Cambell and Dr. Brewer. After they quit there has been a constant parade of visiting doctors. Recently my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. I was told by Dr. Eric Ta that this condition was life threatening and that I needed to drive to the Greenville and Lovers Lane location immediately to get insulin. It took me one hour to get there in Friday traffic. I was told to be back at Dr. Ta's location by 3:30 to give my dog his medicine. I walk into the other Banfield who had been called in advance that I was coming to get the medicine. I was told to sit down. I said I was not sitting down that I have been told by Dr. Ta that my dog's condition was life threatening. I was ignored for over 20 minutes. I lost it and finally said, "Give me the f_____g medicine" When a dog is dying I believe it should take top priority. Finally after 20 minutes and being treated like I was trying to steal the medicine I got it and left.

I arrived back at the McKinney location and Dr. Ta shows me how to give a shot but does not give him the medicine and tells me to give it to him after he eats that night. He put me through all this stress when I later find out he could have written a prescription at Walmart 5 minutes up the street. My dog now needs a test that takes all day called the curve. I take him to another vet because I no longer have faith in Banfield. Now it is time to reorder my dogs meds. I call 1800 Pet Meds and order. 2 days later I get an email from Petmeds that says my vet has not responded for 2 days to the order and cannot fill it. I call Banfield and they say they will respond to Pet Meds by fax. So now I cannot get my dogs medicine for 4 days from the day I order and my dog is out of medicine and so I call Dr. Ta and ask him to call Walmart. When I told him I had taken my dog to another vet and had the curve test done and the amount of medicine the other vet said he should have he would not call in the medicine to Walmart. I said "s**t" and he said he would not talk to me so I hung up. Dr. Ta said that without medicine it could hurt my dog and he still would not call it in. If you are reading this and care about the health of your pets please consider my awful experiences that I have had with Banfield before you take your pets to them.
