Agent from the company called to say this was the last opportunity to take care of outstanding payday loans, or case would be filed, deputy would show up at my front door, and i would be arrested. Then she created a fake check and withdrew money from my business account without my approval. The agent was very confrontational and threatening.
My problem is that I have in the past used payday loans as short-term cash but I always pay them back. To my knowledge there are now outstanding balances due to any cash lending company. The example the agent mentioned was 4 years old, and when I said I would have to look at my records, she started saying that I had to act now and I could not have any more time.
The check used to withdraw money from my account (two months ago, and I just now noticed) was obviously fake... the check number was totally out of sequence with my latest check numbers, and the spelling of my last name was no where close to accurate. My bank rep, when I called them about it, recognized the fraud right away and I did not have to say much or describe many details about what happened.
If anyone from Bain Riley Jacob calls, I would take their information, say you will call them back and then hang up. No sense is wasting your time or losing your money like I did. Fortunately my bank is very reasonable and they are investigating. But, as a result of this call and subsequent withdrawal of funds by fake check, I have incurred several hundred in overdraft charges which I will have to pay.
