My water heater rented through awhr started leaking significantly and started to provide only scalding water. because we were not willing to renew and wanted unit removed company was unwilling to send technician to drain unit. I have paid for this month and they are contracted to service faulty appliance. now I will have to attempt to drain and move unit on my own as they will take up to 30 days to remove and I need a hot water tank for my family. Ireplaced a water heater from awhr ,when I replaced it I called them and they said they would pick it up but never did , when I called them back they told me to get rid of it ,they are still billing me as of this date , I got rid of the heater one year ago
We have leased our gas water heater & dryer for 23 years. We recently sold our house. The new owners do want to continue to lease the water heater but not the dryer. We notified AWHR with this information as soon as we had it. We understand we have to pay for 30 days after terminating the contract, which we have done. However, they will not give us a date that they will pick up the gas dryer. The closing date on our house is July 19, 2017. We must have the dryer removed before that date, so the new owners can hook up their dryer. We have called them three times, and sent 5 emails with no response.
This has always been a bad comapny to deal with. I leased a conversion burner for 16 years. As I am getting ready to sell my house I called for a buyout number so I can transfer the appliance free and clear to the new owners. I have been waiting 3 days for this one number. Today I have called every hour to get this amount from them. They keep saying they have no control over the 3rd party that has to give them the final amount.
I asked when I might have the buyout number. Noone can give me an answer. They claim that it is not their fault. I say that I contracted with AWHR and while they can delegate the authority to a 3rd party, they can't delegate the RESPONSIBILITY that they have to me. They should be able to get the simple amount back to me in a timely fashion. Three business days is unreasonable.
They never transferred service to new owner when I sold my house after my wife died. I have been calling every month, 2 to 3 times a month, since September 2021 and told the new owner never contacted them.
I spoke with the new owner and she sent me multiple emails she sent to AWHR requesting transfer, AWHR NEVER responded. Last straw, they sent me to collections for the cost of the water heater. They have a well deserved F from the BBB.
