I enrolled in Awaken Institute, which is an online spiritual school. I was led to believe that this is a "college level" course, per Morgana Starr, but it is nowhere near the $6000 that I paid. Daena Deva made me pay for the course before mentioning anything about a contract that I had to sign and sent it days later without allowing me to see what the contract entailed before payment. This should have never been the case, as a contract should be signed before any payment or agreements are made.
There are some students who did not even receive a contract, or there are contracts that state different services from individual to individual. The course was originally 8 weeks long, but they extended it to a 12-week program. The program targets those who are in a vulnerable place and who are empathic and leads them to believe that this program is what they need to transform their life. The course consists of slideshows that are read to us with the words on the screen, with many errors and interruptions. Most of the information is provided from other sources.
There is supposed to be "homework" that is turned in, but you get no feedback at all from them. You are supposed to submit the homework to an email, but they do not bother to check the homework before the weekly group call. There is one weekly group call on Tuesdays where absolutely nothing to do with spiritual development is discussed. There is no structure to the calls, and It is more of a counseling session than being mentored like we were told before signing up. In the contract, it clearly states that they do not provide counseling or psychotherapy, and that is exactly what they provide. I was informed that I would receive this amazing amount of guidance and coaching towards developing my spiritual development. Morgana Starr and Daena Deva promote this course in a false matter, as the information and services provided are not worth $6000.
There is no actual coaching provided, and I am in complete disbelief of what this course is. One of the services they provide is Reiki, however, they are legally not allowed to perform this as they are not licensed to do so. They get around this by calling it "Angelic Alignments," and promote it in this way at their store, as well as advertising on social media. The students of this online course are granted certificates that state "Reiki Level One Practitioner" and "Reiki Level Two Practitioner" even though no training was required. Daena Deva instructs there is a loophole to everything, and by calling it "Angelic Alignments" they can offer the service at their store in Cocoa Village, Florida.
The advertising of the course if misleading and what they offer does not constitute a college level course. On the initial phone call, Daena Deva told me that she could see me working for them as a Tarot Reader at their shop from the experience I will gain from the course. There is absolutely nothing mentioned of tarot or any divination tools throughout the course. This is false information she tells everyone who is interested in the program. The information provided throughout the 12 weeks is information you can get from different resources for far less than what I paid.
During the weekly calls, there is no discussion about the coursework or any feedback on what each student has accomplished the prior week. There is video evidence to prove this. Even though the contract states that medical advice is not provided, there are many calls where diagnosis and suggestions of supplements are mentioned. This scam must end because they are promoting false information to gain money. I am highly disappointed with what this course offered. There are several other students who all feel they have been scammed as well, and we are determined to shut this business down and receive our money back.
This Spiritual School is a complete scam and is nowhere near the amount of money it cost. Two of the students did not have to pay for the school because they are working at their retail shop and not getting paid to do so. I have reached out to Daena Deva to try to discuss this situation and handle the dispute, but I have not received a response. I am requesting a refund for the amount paid, as I am suffering mental anguish and emotional distress from the scam in which I am a victim to.
