Had a tire breakdown/failure while on the road and was advised by their roadside to pay for the tires and get pics and receipts and I would be reimbursed. For 2 weeks I have been getting the run around. Now instead of reimbursing me they have charged me for the tires I already paid for and everytime I call I get a constant run around. Every department says it's another departments issue. Got passed by customer service to Alex(would not give his title but he is corporate)and he did help us a little but also gave us a bad attitude and then passed us along as well. Customer service says roadside has to approve the refund and roadaide says is a customer service issue. Someone did something as they have now charged me for something I paid for.
Consumers need to hold this company to account and NOT rent from them. I rented a car July 23 2022 - I then received a charge on my cc for $300+ for window damage in DECEMBER. I did some research and noted this is a popular scam with rental car companies - they dont even do repairs, but they do charge every user until window needs replacing. I did start a campaign of terror and asked for pictures/proof that I caused damage - eventually they just credited my charge with no explanation - anyway, you need to challenge these scammers if you rent from them...but even better is DONT BUY their product.
Received a letter (see attached) from Budget claiming that I am responsible for a $218 "jump start" that was requested during my rental. Phone call to Budget (case #47489068) revealed that they could not point to any record of my account that showed such a request or an actual service call.
On a completely separate issue during the same rental agreement, I had deliberately declined any
I was able to get this charge reversed during my phone call but, with the two of these spurious charges hitting me for the same rental, I don't feel very generous to Avis/Budget right now.
I nor anyone in my family have an animal (I wonder how frequent they pull this on other customers). Myself, My wife, Son (leave from military) and 2 grandchildren drove down to Tx for another sons wedding. On the way back it was Myself, My Wife, 1 son and 1 daughter
We returned vehicle on May 2, received a letter dated May 9th on May 16th from AvisBudgetGroup stating we owe and additional $450 for cleaning of Animal Hair from inside of the rental vehicle, We do not own an animal and have not for over 5 years. So where does animal hair come from?
I have written 2 Complaints to the Avis Budget Group (Customer Service), 1 on May 17 or 18th, the other May 23rd. I still today (May 24th) have not heard a response.
I also filed a dispute over the charges with AMEX for the amount of $449.00 on May 22, 2022. What could be my next steps? Something also happened several years ago -- flat tire on rental vehicle and they said I owed $275 for a ruined tire? I did not pay
This may be the last time I ever rent from Budget Car Rental Company
