I needed a deadbolt replaced on my aunts home, when He showed up, he was disheveled and his trousers were unzipped. He quoted me a price of $115 for a deadbolt and $85 to install. When I told him He was nuts and I would go to Lowes and get my own deadbolt and install the d**n thing myself, he quickly said 'Well how mych will you pay'. I told him I would pay 115 for lock and installation, as he was working, he questioned me extensively about the house...why is it vacant? do you live here? what are your plans with the house....of which was any of his d**n business.....he told me 5 times, that he oculd take care of my renovation....no thank you....just do your job....he never closed the door and used the lock to make sure it was properly installedbefore leaving. As fate would have it...luckily for me....I had a plumber in the house a the same time the locksmith was there, when the plumber left, that is when the door was shut and the lock was used to secure the door. the door would not shut. the plumber assisted me in investigating the issue, that is when I found the face plate screws that hold the hold the whole lock in place was seated crooked as hell. The plumber corrected the locksmiths shoddy work. DO NOT UTILIZE THIS COMPANY!!!
The worker arrived, assessed all the doors. Three if which we were not given the keys by previous owners. He said one (garage) would be difficult to Rekey since it’s in the sun and rusty, although it was new. This was quoted $69 Rekey. The two back doors were not on the quote because he wasn’t "certain” which parts he needed, but assured he would go to the office near by to get the parts once we got started. He said both the locks would need to be replaced, Because 1. we didn’t have the keys, 2. One was a combo keypad and lock. When he 'discovered’ the locks needed to be fully replaced, the price then tripled. I agreed because there weren’t other options, according to him, and he had already removed and thrown away all our locks and parts. I then felt uncomfortable with him in my house. It wa sobvious here he thought I was stupid. I asked him to place the matching 'silver’ but he only had "gold” but said he could come back a later date and just charge service (he already took the other locks off and disassembled the previous ones). The front door for Rekey was $129, because it’s 'so difficult’. Which seemed ridiculous but he threatened to leave it alone (after already removed the original) now It’s clicking, as though the key may break every time we use it. I pointed it out immediately, and his response was "call us when it breaks soon”. We paid $600 for something that was originally going to be around $250. And, the locks look terrible, 2 don’t even work properly. Within 10 minutes after this was over, I received a call and tried to explain the above frustrations I wasn’t comfortable confronting the worker about, I was ignored and responded with "have a good weekend”. We filed a formal complaint and there has been no response. We asked hey come correct the two that don’t work properly. When i asked him to correct them before he left, he said "call us when they break”.
