AVANT is USELESS: I’ve had so many complaints. in July of this past year my account online stopped working ; I have called multiple times to only hear the same thing “our systems are upgrading” I have filed several complaints about them including to the BBB, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to only get more annoyed.
In a letter that was sent to me via Webbank and also copied to Utah Department of Financial Institution the bank indicated”
“ Our investigation of your concerns confirmed that the service you received did not meet the level of service we strive to provide to all of our customers. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service, and we apologize for your less than satisfactory experience with Avant. AVANT is actively working to resolve the issue that affected your AvantCard account, and as a courtesy, Avant waived the annual fee of $39.00 assessed to your account. The amount of $39.00 will be refunded to you via paper “

As of today being January 6, 2023 still no check and still issues with customer service unable to pull my account up.
My Name Is Basel Abbas I am an Avant Card Holder, On the Morning of May 15th, 2019 I went to buy breakfast for my daughters I did not have my wallet on me all what I had in my car is Avant card after checking the credit on my online account via Avant website it stated that I have $19 in credit so I went and bought breakfast for my daughters the bill came to $8 and some change.
The Mcdonald Employee informed me that the card is declined, I ask him to try it again it didn't go through So I HAD TO TAKE THE FOOD FROM MY DAUGHTERS TABLE BACK !!!! How is it that I can not use the credit when I have it I called customer service The worst customer service on this planet the first time they said that it is the merchant error!! Then they said that I can not use my credit when My payment was due on the 13th even though I scheduled my payment for the 17th.
I asked the customer service lady I should have 10 day grace period they said no so I asked are they going to take my payment from my credit???? they kept me on the phone telling me lies after lies 48 minutes later I talked to Dentanio he identified himself as the ops manager of that place and he kept saying I will send your complaint to the escalation team. This is the worst experience that I've ever had in my life since when we can not use the credit that it says it is available ??
We took out a loan in Nov. 2015, at a high intreast rate of 35%, with the promise from Avant that in three to six months we could refinance at a lower rate as long as all payments have been made on time. Allour payments have been made on time, we have requested that our loan be refinanced as promised but have been re fused. The original loan was for $9,300.00, to this date we have payed $7,736.28 with thre balance being $7,736.28. So far we haave paid $1,563.72 toward the loan the amount of intreast paid $6,172.56. This was suppose to be a three year loan but if it continues at this rate it will take us 16 more years to pay this loan off. At that time we will have paid them, $64,481.28 for a $9,300.00 loan. This is usuary at its worst for a company that is suppose to be legit. You will find other complaints on their reviews. Please do something to close this company down. I have contated the Attorney General in Illinois and New Mexico, they said they would look into it, but we will most likely have seek legal help, which we cannot afford. I applied and receive a loan for 13,000 dollars. My payment was 520.68 per month. My credit score is 677, which is not bad..After I had made several payments. I looked at the breakdown of the load and was SHOCKED to see that 329.87 went to interest and 190.81 went to the principal. So I made an extra payment of 1000 $ in addition to my normal payment... Don't you know those crooks applied their MAGIC MATH and applied 634.61 to INTEREST... INTEREST I TELL YOU! what a huge robbery. So finally after 15 months I was finally able to beg borrow and steal enough money to pay them off.. so lets to the math..payments just to the principal were 2862.15$ Original loan was 13,000$ subtract 10,137.85...but my payoff was quoted at 10, 937.48.. How in the hell can it increase based on their numbers...not mine...Bottom line is I borrowed 13,000$ Paid 6,810 and the load only shrunk to 10, 937.48...So if they screwed up or denied your load, count yourself as lucky..But if you are applying for a load, DON'T DO IT. THE COST IS PROHIBITIVE! I cannot wait for the class action lawsuit.
I got a loan from these rip-offs, and they think that because I agreed to the terms they can get away with charging interest WAY past usery. One agent told me interest was compounded daily, another said it is not. I was told the personal loan was treated like a mortgage, heavy interest at first. This is against the law.
Canceled payment modification agreement and then reported me as not having made payments for 120+ days even though I had made the payments. Spoke today to Daniel Chang who is their director of compliance. He is super rude, disrespectful, and condescending. With leadership like him no wonder Avant's customer service team sucks. Will be pursuing legal action against Avant.
Basically, these people said i took out loan after my loan was declined. Now they said they put money into my account. To which they did not. So they are ttrying to collect on monies they never gave me. What a joke trying to take their make believe legal transaction, to appear to be real. Never borrow money from online from Avant Inc.because they are a joke. Avant is located on 640 N Lasalle in Chicago,IL. Their numbers are: 312-763-7970 and 773-305-0182. Watch out!
