Avalon Communities Reviews
Worst experience possible. Not only a bad place, but a dangerous place.
Saw PSE&G "sniffer" van there...which is to check for gas leak.
Noticed grey pipes outside buildings had significant rust...and development was only 2 years old.
Place put up at lightning speed, I think it only took 18 months - 2 years to do whole development. Very shoddy construction, cheap materials, cutting costs...the whole enchilada of scam.
Parking is absolutely horrible. Many residents forced to park on side streets and now the entire neighborhood hates the residents. We had to park on a side street, the neighbors wrote a threatening note on our car.
Garage door broken, kept opening on its own (and remember, place was only 2 years old). Finally had to deactivate it and set it in locked position. Because, apparently, it is my job to fix things, not theirs.
Garage design questionable as to whether leak carbon monoxide into dwelling.
Circuit breaker kept tripping. Brother said that they used the cheapest kind possible.
Shower did not work! Oh, that was fun. Hot water only. Came to fix it, did not fix it.
And the best....the freakin' fire alarm went off, like thunder, every few days. Not a smoke alarm, which is loud enough, but a fire alarm, which is like a siren!!
And the maintenance "staff?" Forget about that. Just some kids with virtually no experience whatsoever. Worse, they pretended to be real professionals. Worse than that, they were nasty and tried to be intimidating to the point I actually had to call the cops on them.
Talked to other residences. One, a nice church going lady, said that everyone in the place was talking about how horrible it was.
Staffed all by young people, with little training and experience.
Garbage area smelled like doom. All they had to do was use the hose and wash the place out a few times a week, maybe spray a little Lysol around. They were just too dumb to even figure that out.
Design of the place, in many ways, often incredible. Nice house, no one home. Nice appearance, no substance behind it. Main kitchen area wasn't even level! I mean, the construction guys don't know how to use a level?
Oh, please, this place was a total nightmare. Save yourself and don't go. And if you are there, get a lawyer, get out and sue...
