I purchased a brand new travel trailer from these guys. It was suggested I buy the extended warranty, which I did. The very first trip leaving from the dealer, we stopped for a couple of nites at the half way point of our trip home. As I was setting up the trailer for the very first time, I noticed the screw that had been missing and replaced at the dealership, was once again gone. In retrospect and knowing what I know now, I should have just turned around to drop the trailer back at the dealer. I felt they certainly would honor the warranty, so I continued on my way home.
As we continued our trip home, I noticed the fairing fender flopping in the wind driving down the road. I stopped to tie the fender down but the damage had already been done. The insufficient screws and lack of support for the bottom panel lead to the panel breaking at every screw holding it up.
Being only a day into ownership, I felt surely they would cover the damage. Boy, WAS I EVER WRONG!!!! Not only did they refuse to fix it but indicated and suggested the damage was my fault! I tried to reason with lot manager, Cory Basque at AUTO RV AMERICA, who insisted his hands were tied because body work was not covered under any warranty.
DO yourself and everyone you know, a favor by steering clear of this place and Forest River products!! All are junk and if you care anything at all about integrity, you"ll not find it in either of these places. Not only do they leave you hanging once you drive off the lot, but they will find reasons why they are TOTALLY UNABLE to offer any customer service. NOT EVEN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE-----NONE!! If there was such a thing as negative stars, both AUTO RV AMERICA and FOREST RIVER LaCROSSE WOULD GET A -5 FROM THIS VERY UNHAPPY CAMPER!!
